The well-known home appliance brand Alfawise has expanded its range with an ultra-cheap modern TV box A8 with support for native decoding of 4K video streams and 3D. In addition, the new product is distinguished by a balanced filling and an abundance of interfaces for connection.
Alfawise A8 is based on a quad-core RockChip RK3229 processor with hardware decoding of popular video containers: h.264 up to 4K at 30 frames per second, h.265 - 4R/60 fps. The box's performance is even enough to convert FullHD files with 60 fps and 10-bit color.
In addition, the platform provides sufficient performance for a variety of games running on Android: from Zuma platformers to hits like Asphalt. It is helped in this by 2 GB of fast DDR3 RAM and a 16 GB eMMC 5.1 drive.
An important advantage of Alfawise A8 is its rich set of peripheral interfaces. The small box accommodates 4 USB on its side panels, an analog audio-video output (4pin mini-jack -> RCA, or, in colloquially, “tulip”), SPDIF digital audio output, and full HDMI 2.0 for transmitting the heaviest digital content. The new product is also equipped with a gigabit Ethernet connector and network modules - Bluetooth and Wi-Fi ac/n/g.
The Alfawise A8 operating system uses “pure” Android 8.1 with a pre-installed TV launcher. The starter kit includes all the necessary codecs for playing any type of audio and video content, thanks to which the media set-top box can be used immediately after unpacking without preliminary configuration.
The starter kit also includes a fully functional remote control and power supply. By the way, if desired, Alfawise A8 can play the role of a home server - powered USB ports allow you to connect not only flash drives, but also external hard drives.
And that is not all. In the period from July 9 to July 15, Alfawise A8 will cost the buyer only $29 - cheaper than the simplest box without 4K support and in a poorer configuration.
