DJI, the largest manufacturer of quadcopters and other unmanned vehicles for civilian (hobby and amateur) purposes, has introduced an updated folding compact Mavic Pro.

Now at Gearbest - for $1299 with coupon MavicPro

Unlike the flagship Phantom 4 Pro, the new Mavic has a foldable design - you can put it in your pocket! It won’t even pull too much - it weighs only 700 grams.

At the same time, Mavic Pro combines all the achievements that DJI managed to implement in a larger series: 4K shooting, excellent three-axis camera stabilization, and a full set of front and bottom sensors.

But the main thing is that the new product features an intelligent flight system that allows you to fly around and avoid obstacles, and land on “automatically” and stabilize your own flight, leaving the user maximum time to create a successful picture and select the right one angle.

Moreover, the drone has learned to control using gestures. He folded his hands and sat down. He waved his hand correctly - he started shooting or circled around one point.

Video recording is possible in two formats: 4K video (30 frames/s) and FullHD (96 frames/s). The maximum photo size is 12 megapixels, and shooting is carried out not in JPG, but in RAW - Adobe DNG.

The camera sensor is the same as the regular Phantom 4. The Mavic Pro uses different optics with a larger aperture, which is f/2.2 (f/2.8 = Phantom 4). True, the shooting angle is smaller - only 78 degrees.

Thanks to its compact size, the Mavic Pro flies almost as long and fast as its big brother - 25-30 minutes at a maximum speed of 65 km/h. A small body is easier to protect, so the copter can be operated from 5 to 40 degrees. If only it didn't rain.

The Mavic Pro's communication range with the remote control during video broadcasting is up to 7 kilometers with FullHD resolution, as DJI has used the new OcuSync communication standard.

Because of the new protocol, DJI had to develop a new controller that closely resembles the Hubsan controllers.

It now has an information screen with system information and telemetry, and only the video stream is output to the mobile device. If you wish, you can fly the Mavic Pro without a smartphone - within sight.

The smartphone received a new mount, so no matter what it will not fit. Otherwise, additional accessories will be needed. But the Mavic Pro has another option - to abandon the remote control altogether and fly using your smartphone. True, via WiFi - again, not far away and with a not very good signal.

Surprisingly, even the price of the new product is much nicer than its older brother - only $1,299 with a coupon MavicPro.
