The renowned Chinese budget smartphone manufacturer Ulefone has released its first rugged smartphone, Ulefone Armor. The device is certified according to the IP68 standard, is not afraid of dust, moisture and can take photographs at a depth of up to 1 meter (there is even a special hardware button!).
In this case, Armor is helped by a new type of case for such smartphones. Instead of a metal chassis, the new product uses a two-layer casing: the lower one serves for strength and is made of polycarbonate, the upper one absorbs shock and is made of polyurethane. To ensure maximum durability, all buttons are mechanical.
Ulefone Armor can operate in a temperature range from -40℃ to 80℃, being the most resistant Chinese rugged smartphone.
Another interesting element was the logo insert on the back panel: it’s made of metal, but it doesn’t work for beauty – it’s an external antenna! With this you can be sure that pressing the SOS button will definitely send a message to the specified recipient.
Perhaps it is the appearance that sets Ulefone Armor apart from its analogues. Other characteristics are close to analogues. Thus, the screen has standard dimensions of 4.7 inches and a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels, it is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3.
The smartphone runs on an 8-core MediaTek MT6753, the performance of which is complemented by 3 gigabytes of RAM and a 32 GB storage drive. By the way, Armor has a separate slot for memory cards. The autonomy of the device is based on a battery with a capacity of 3500 mAh.
The multimedia capabilities of the new rugged Ulefone smartphone include a 13 megapixel main camera with flash and autofocus, as well as a 5 megapixel front camera. There is a universal GPS/GLONASS module and NFC support.
Since the smartphone belongs to the protected class, its weight is significantly higher than that of ordinary ones - as much as 195 grams. But the dimensions are almost close to conventional devices, albeit with a slightly larger diagonal.
