The long-awaited Xiaomi Mi Pad 3 tablet has finally gone on sale with an unexpected price of $289.
The new product continues the logic of the MiPad, presented as competitors to the iPad mini: the same Retina display with a diagonal of 7.9 inches. True, now it has a new feature - a black and white display mode that turns the tablet into a real e-reader.
The new product has decent performance: the amount of RAM has doubled, to 4 GB, the built-in memory has doubled, to 64! True, there is no slot for memory cards. And we won’t see a version with a SIM card yet either.
The cameras used are the same as in the company's popular budget phones: 13 and 5 megapixels, without autofocus and flash.
The main peripheral slot is the latest USB-C. Wireless modules Bluetooth 4.1 and Wi-Fi 802.11ac came to his aid.
The autonomy of Mi Pad 3 promises to be excellent, since the battery is used as much as 6600 mAh. Fast charging is claimed but not confirmed by partner communications on either the Mediatek or Quallcomm website.
The operating system is not Windows, but the most common Android 7.1 Nougat with the latest, eighth version of MIUI.
Because demand outstrips supply, the MiPad 3, priced at $289, is currently in limited supply. Delivery starts on April 20.
