HomTom has released a fresh frameless flagship called S9 Plus. Like many smartphones already familiar to our readers, such as Xiaomi Mix 2 or Elefone S2, the new product has extremely reduced display frames on the top and sides.
However, unlike other frameless Chinese smartphones, HomTom S9 Plus has a unique arched end design, somewhat reminiscent of Samsung solutions.
The main feature of the HomTom S9 Plus is a frameless IPS display with a diagonal of 5.99 inches and a resolution of 1440x720 pixels (HD+). The aspect ratio of the screen is 18:9 - the elongated display is actually more comfortable in the hand, and fits more content compared to the usual 16:9.
Unlike many typical Chinese devices, HomTom S9 Plus has a multifunction key with a built-in fingerprint scanner. It also performs the usual role of the Home navigation button.
Another clear advantage of the HomTom S9 Plus is its interesting back cover. It is made of originally processed glass, and gives beautiful shimmer when light is reflected.
The heart of the HomTom S9 Plus is an eight-core MediaTek MT6750T processor clocked at 1.5 GHz. It is complemented by the Mali-T860 MP2 video core and 4 GB of RAM. To store data, the smartphone uses a 64 GB eMMC drive. In addition, instead of one of the SIM cards (the smartphone is equipped with a dual slot), the smartphone can be equipped with a microSD flash card with a capacity of up to 256 GB.
The multimedia capabilities of the HomTom S9 Plus are represented by the now common dual main and good front cameras - the first is 16 and 5 megapixels, the second is an honest 13 megapixels. Each allows you not only to take high-quality images (at least in good lighting conditions), but also are equipped with useful functions of background blur, face removal, panoramic shooting and HDR mode.
The autonomy of the HomTom S9 Plus is ensured by a 4,050 mAh battery, which, according to the manufacturer, is enough for two days of operation in a moderate operating scenario.
The HomTom S9 Plus operating system is Android 7.0 Nougat with support for multi-window mode, introduced for ease of use of such a long screen.
