Xiaomi introduced its new VR headset called Mi VR Play 2, which is a logical continuation of the “simply” Mi VR Play, released last year.
Now we are not looking at an angular Cardboard with a zipper that makes it difficult to access the compartment for a smartphone, but a constructive clone of Daydream View priced at $30.
The Mi VR Play 2 headset is also covered with fabric and has a similar smartphone fastening system, but not with a hook in the form of a cord, but with a latch on a button. This is the only button on the body, and there are no touchpads nearby. There is no complete controller.
Innovations include more comfortable material, lighter weight and an advanced “invisible” cooling system for greater user comfort. In addition, Xiaomi claims that connecting a smartphone to a headset has become easier.
No Xiaomi smartphone works with Daydream or Oculus. The company has its own answer to American ecosystems. At the end of last year, the company introduced its own analogue of the Google platform - MIUI VR.
Along with it, the Mi VR helmet appeared, which is a direct competitor to the View in the Chinese manufacturer’s line, unlike the Mi VR Play 2.
