The popularity of Xiaomi Mi Band 2 is pushing other brands to release their own analogues. Lenovo presented its own vision of a fitness tracker with a heart rate monitor called Lenovo Cardio Plus HX03W. In essence, it is almost a smart watch, but on its own operating system. And much cheaper than analogues.

Perhaps, for the first acquaintance with smartphone companions, the Lenovo HX03W is a good option.

Specifications of the Lenovo HX03W smart bracelet

  • Screen diagonal – 0.96″
  • Screen resolution - 128x64
  • Matrix type - OLED
  • Connectivity - Bluetooth 4.2
  • Battery – 85 mAh
  • Sensors - heart rate monitor, pedometer
  • Dimensions (without strap) 42x18x8 mm
  • Strap size: 280 mm
  • Weight - 20 grams

Design and Construction

Oddly enough, Lenovo HX03W is almost a copy of Mi Band 2. There is a screen with a similar layout. But the bracelet is not removable. The strap is made of soft rubber - black, red, blue or red.

But the screen occupies the entire surface, and there are no buttons - the screen is touch-sensitive. Looks stylish and modern. It is worth noting that this smart bracelet is equipped with a pretty good matrix, which gives a clear and well-readable image even in the sun.

The case is sealed, which ensures complete protection against dust and water resistance with protection class IP68. This smart bracelet is not only resistant to rain, but you can even swim in it, which also allows you to wash it without any problems.

Functionality

By default, the smart bracelet operates in electronic watch mode, displaying the current time and date, as well as remaining battery charge, but in 1-3 touches you can activate the heart rate measurement mode, pedometer or alarm. In the settings there is a choice of graphical interfaces for different tastes.

The same thing can be monitored on a smartphone by connecting a smart bracelet to it via Bluetooth and downloading the Lenovo Healthy application. Here are both statistics and settings. In total, the bracelet can:

  • heart rate monitor and pedometer
  • sleep monitoring
  • activity reminder
  • sleep protection
  • alarm clock, calendar, compass
  • call and message notifications
  • notifications from applications (Gmail, Skype, WhatsApp, Wechat, Facebook, Twitter)
  • change the interface (look of the clock on the screen)

Activity reminders allow the user to remember to exercise at specified intervals. 5 types of sound and vibration signals are supported.

An interesting mode is sleep protection for drivers, in which the smart bracelet will periodically vibrate, preventing you from falling asleep while driving.

conclusions

Lenovo HX03W uses its own proprietary operating system. This is a minus. The companion application also does not shine with unique capabilities, being inferior to the analogue from Xiaomi. Yes, the working time is only 7 days. However, charging takes an hour, and is possible from any mobile charger or device with a USB connector.

Due to its compact size and light weight, the smart bracelet is almost invisible on your hand and does not interfere with sports or other activities. The official price of the new product is $30, but Gearbest and Lenovo are reducing the price to $10 until March 5 - this is 2 times cheaper than its main competitor, Xiaomi Mi Band 2.
