I decided to write about the pros and cons I have purchased 3-section aluminum ladder, unfolded as a working height of almost 11 meters (10.8 m.).
The purpose of the acquisition
In one of my articles on the channel, I published materials about the installation of roof system with their own hands, and insulation of the attic from inside the house (links are provided at the end of the article). So, since my home was delayed masonry, truss system and installation of the roof were carried out in October-December in the rain and wet snow, so the hem overhangs while I desperately did not have time, and all power was thrown into metal roofing and chimney on construction skate!
Since the distance to the highest point of the roof overhang was 9 m. - it was decided to buy the long ladder as forest lease - actually thrown out the extra money and the stairs and on the farm handy. I bought this huge fool (ladder), only the following spring through the online store.
On the stairs "in three words"
The length of one section - 4 m, the design weight assembly 35 kg.. In the unfolded form -. 10.15 m, the working height of 10.8 m, a stepladder mode working height is 7.5 m..
Exploitation
First, keep a bandura unfolded one is practically impossible, since the height of a man with arms outstretched 4 times lower ladder length, respectively, and less leverage, a small oscillation of the tops, and the balance is lost immediately. Catch Design Center of gravity as possible, but also easy to lose, too, can be, in the end, she flies "to hell" on the garden, well, if not the neighbors)))!
Secondly, if you work with one staircase, then lay it should be only in the form of standing, as if you lay it on the ground - do not have enough leverage to lift! And standing as it does not decompose completely, because, again, one section - 4 meters, and the height of a person with arms outstretched on his toes - 2.2-2.4 meters, and stupidly did not hold out to the last snap lock section of the bar.
With grief in half the roof was stapled. I moved the ladder without dropping down - carefully turning over the walls. So went around the perimeter of the house))))
Storage
Keep stairs is not convenient, if there is no longer space! The height will not fit, and if lying down, then at length I have no such sheds))), besides lower support strap 1.5 m. Is not always the first time takes place in the doorway.
Benefits
Despite the above, the benefits of it is still there. Since I'm the one across the street know this Bandura, the whole neighborhood harvest is already assembled on the high trees. Let and 50/50 with the neighbors, but freezer was breaking, and the family does not go hungry))).
And yet to install the wind vane on the chimney, which really wants my wife, and just enough for me this height !!!
So, to buy or not, the case of each person, but to get a place for the storage of this thing - probably should have in advance! And of course, much easier to operate if there is a helper!
