In this article, I would like to share what options built right angles at all common, and how to check the corners of already built homes with no access to the measurement of its diagonals.
I specify that many variants, and most of them are expressed in terms of trigonometric functions or via complex geometric constructions))), but we do not need it, as at a construction site, no one will take up the hard stuff and sit with bukvarom, wasting time!
This article describes the following options for obtaining the right angle:
- Pythagorean theorem;
- variant geometric construction;
- simplified version is derived from the geometric construction.
Pythagorean theorem
The most frequently used and very reliable way. The theorem establishes a relationship between the rectangular sides of the triangle: the sum of the squares of the lengths of the legs is equal to the square of the length of the hypotenuse.
You can use ready-made solution (see Figure below), or knowing the side of the house - the most, according to a formula to calculate "their" diagonal, and continue to work with this value.
Main aspect ratio triangles Pythagoras - 3, 4 and 5 units. Just for convenience, the derivatives of the basic triangles obtained, by multiplying its sides at any ratio. For example, the sides 3,4,5 multiplied by K = 2 (factor 2), we get a triangle with sides 6,8,10, etc.

Or slightly better than Pythagorean triangle, but not often used (probably due to forgetfulness), but very effective!
It looks terrible, but in fact - simple))).
Knowing the building corner (point G), distancing it from two points O1 and O2 on the axis A. Can the same distance as we want to postpone using: tape measure, compass (peg rope) or a scrap board, but in general anything important to have an equal distance from the point O.
From the points O1 and O2 are alternately same radius (arbitrary radius but greater than a distance from deferred point O to O1 or O2) draw a roughly arc where their intersection will be a second axis B (the second wall). The point of intersection of the two arcs (in the figure the arc highlighted in green) and will produce exactly the right angle with the held segment to the point O (to the corner of the future building).
Believe me, this method is not nearly as good Pythagoras - having at hand the two pegs and rope segment is the construction of the axes of the future home for 20-40 minutes, depending on the size and complexity of the building.
And finally, a simplified version
Instead of drawing arcs points O1 and O2, two roulette taken (without roulette error between an allowable deviation of 2-3 mm. 10 m. on dimensional scale) and placed to the zero mark of each of the points O1 and O2.
Then simply combine them to the same values for the dimensional scale (point X) and all perpendicular prepared. In this case built isosceles triangle, wherein the height of the base evenly divides in half and forms a right angle with it.
In practice it has done as follows: marked several control points for two roulettes divisions at the intersection (for example 1 m, 3m.. and 7 m.). Further on it is pulled the cord from the point O, and if the line is the same with all points - you did the right thing, if not the same - that remeasure again!
This is done so quickly that at first glance it may seem implausible, but trust me - it works with 100%!
Check the right angle constructed building
All the methods described above also apply to already-standing buildings. They are used as a test for builders, as well as in cases where the need to fill in the foundation of the old perimeter of the house and / or exactly oblitsevat old house with any material.
All the same, the size of the main stand outside of the structure, as in - work is no longer real.
Using twine, stretch it parallel to the walls and anchoring pegs. After that, remove the measurement.
When constructing a geometric intersection of the arcs of the wall will not be as described above, and by "invisible walls continuation" (point indicated in Figure X). It is the same with the two tape measures ...
If necessary, all the methods freely combined or interchanged.
