In the middle zone of our country, many gardeners complain about the poor harvest of cherry trees. In this case, it is not even as a grade, because access to the different varieties of cherries now there virtually every gardener, and not even in all kinds of diseases that can affect plants and trees. After all, the disease - only a consequence of the oppression of the tree, not a cause. As a gardener with many years of experience (including in the cultivation of cherries), I believe that it is paramount for the tree good fruit, is respect for the basic rules of caring for them, which I will discuss in this material.

Rule №1: landing place.

Carbohydrates (essential for the development of the fruit substance) formed in the grafted plants during photosynthesis. Photosynthesis is only possible if there is a large amount of direct sunlight. It is best to plant cherry choose areas where the sun's rays begin to fall on the plant in the early morning to the afternoon. Ideal - direct rays of illumination throughout the day, but on their six acres implement this personally, I have never it turned out - that close to half the shading garden neighbor's fence, then landing in the afternoon begins to fall the shadow of the other trees.

Rule №2: Limestone

I was in my gardening "career," a period when I did not particularly bother with fertilizer for fruit crops, but over time it became clear that it is - a big mistake. Fertilize cherry (and most other garden trees) to get a good harvest is necessary. Mainly used for these purposes manure, but in our dacha cooperative with its reception often had problems (it was necessary to order a separate machine or tractor for transport). Good people prompted me worthy alternative manure, and it turned out to be powdered limestone.

Since then, every year I have to fertilize the soil outside the circle around-trunk trees each limestone flour. Are scattered generously, with an average of one kilogram of flour is enough for 2-3 square meters of soil. Another trick - at the stage of planting, you can throw in the planting hole a few pieces of concrete of medium size. Incidentally, the hole should not be too deep, and I advise the root neck lift landing about 20 cm from the ground. I do so because it does not tolerate waterlogging cherry neck.

Rule number 3: Plants satellites

Neighbors and acquaintances to see that around the cherry I usually planted a flower garden of gladioli, marigolds, lupins and roses all colors, usually begin to make fun of my "female" weakness to the flowers, to which I am proud to tell them that all these plants here in the first place not to meet anyone's aesthetic needs and for the serious performance for the protection of mission cherry trees. Well, and then I add that rose with lupine and look much nicer than on the burr and mugs.

Rule №4: pollinators.

Cherry fruits are known to any experienced gardener may be fastened only from pollen of other varieties. That is why it is so important to choose the right grade-pollinator. He is chosen by trial and error, and at one time I had to travel by bike a lot of abandoned orchards in search of the old cherry tree with young shoots nearby. After dropping off such growth to within 3-4 meters from their trees, I eventually got the best grade-pollinator.
