After four unsuccessful attempts to make work-action camera with an external microphone, I found surprising.
GoPro Hero 3,4 and some of their Chinese clones maintained for an external microphone connected via connector MiniUSB. I ordered four times in various Chinese shops adapter to connect a microphone to the GoPro and four times the microphone did not work (the camera as if nothing had happened wrote the sound from the built microphone).
I began to understand. It turned out that GoPro is not used a conventional 5-pin connector MiniUSB, a 10-pin, and a microphone connected to an additional number of contacts.
Moreover, all four Chinese Adapter have only five pins in the socket.
I do not understand how it happened that different Chinese manufacturers produce different, but obviously inefficient adapters.
At various schemes microphone connection specified different resistor values.
Found here is the following information:
ID resistor values and corresponding features:
33kOhm - two mic channels in and composite video out
100kOhm - composite video out + audio out
330kOhm - two mic channels in
Tried to find a 10-pin plug MiniUSB and a chip-on Dipe Aliekspresse. Nothing good has not found (Ali only in bulk at 10-20 pieces), but found here is a adapter, the photos can be seen that the contacts in the narrowest part of the connector is clearly there.
I ordered. Perhaps it works. :)
