Sparking wiring - the most common cause of fires. Arcing can occur at the joints of wires (stranding weakened contacts, mechanical damage to the wires) and not noticeable as long as the heating wires does not lead to a fire.

The company has developed a device Ecolight UZIs-S1-40Capable of detecting arcing and disconnect electricity. Furthermore it protects the device from high voltage electrical network, which may occur due to e.g. open or "burning-off" neutral conductor.

Includes a special plug-sparking emulator to test device functionality, manual, sticker with the status display table.

The device is installed in the flat panel after the introductory RCD or Emergency circuit breakers. It is able to switch current up to 40 amps.

Mechanical indication indicates inclusion (red) and disconnecting (green) device. Two-color LED indicates the status of the device. The controller allows you to set the trigger level of protection from high voltage of 260 to 290 volts.

To control the operation of the protection from arcing can be plugged into any wall outlet, protected UZIs, test the red plug. The device is immediately shut off the electricity and lights up red.

To check the security of a real spark, I used an electric kettle and an extension, which I wrote one year ago (This extension cord wire simply bolted to the contacts and chat).

After a few seconds sparking device detonated and shut off the load.

To test the surge protection I used LATR and accurate multimeter.

When the voltage 259 volts (when setting the threshold 260) is canceled, with after disconnection LED indicates whether the remains dangerously high voltage (flashing red) or decreased (flashes green).

The device consumes 0.33 W, that is, for the year it will spend just 2.89 kWh of electricity.

My experiments I took video.

As far as I know, the United States passed a law requiring all homeowners to install such a device, and after the adoption of this law, the number of fires has decreased by half.

UZIs-S1-40 worth 4500 rubles. Of course it is not cheap, but the fire damage or failure of equipment due to an increase in voltage may be repeatedly more so, I believe that such a device, with the RCD or Emergency circuit breakers should be installed in every apartment or private house.
