There are five ways to zoning, each of which beginners often make mistakes. Than it is fraught? Incorrect zoning not only transform the interior in bad taste, but it can also be a source of injury.
Let's look at all the options, highlighting good and bad decisions.
1. The wall or partition
Bad decision. No need to use bright and curly partitions. They attract too much attention and look unnatural in the model homes.
Good decision. Repelled by the overall architecture of the building. Most of the houses are built on a rectangle type, so they are simple geometric shapes look great.
2. finishing materials
Bad decision. An example of the space that divided the wallpaper is not for the sake of functionality, but do not understand why. The essence of zoning - to divide the space in the areas of: business, bedroom, living room. We'll see if this principle is violated? Design for the design.
Good decision. Here we see just two examples of successful zoning on one photo. The kitchen is separated from the dining area via a floor covering, and from the bedroom room using a glass septum.
While fully saved the principle of use of space: the kitchen cook, we eat in the dining room, in a bedroom resting.
3. Furniture
Bad decision. It is not necessary to use short shelves that leave plenty of space between them and the ceiling. Visually, they are coping with the zoning task, but look too massive.
Good decision. If the rack is completely comes up to the ceiling, it is perceived as a part of the wall and the eye "stumbles" on it. This approach is more harmonious, but requires a larger budget.
4. Textile
Bad decision. Lightweight translucent tulle will not help divide the space into several zones. Tulle is completely translucent, so the whole point of the zoning is simply lost. It's not pretty, and is not practical, so we can safely abandon this decision.
Good decision. Replace tulle on the blackout curtains. Not necessarily keep them curtained all the time, but if necessary, they miraculously completely insulate the bedroom from the living room.
5. Podium
Bad decision. Perhaps one of the most controversial zoning methods. Similarly, do not make the podium for the podium. An extra step is not practical to add to your home decor.
If you live with children or elderly parents, the podium can cause sprains and broken knees. I never use this solution and discourage customers.
Good decision. If you still want something like a podium, consider a slightly different technique. In this example, we see that the designers have constructed a kind of a niche with lots of storage. It is practical and beautiful. And yet eliminates the extra steps.
