During his work in the furniture business, I happened to be in the hundreds of small apartments. In some of them, the space was organized so organically, it is unclear how many square meters it. After talking with the owners and designers of these apartments, I knew how to do it.

zoning space

The most important way to increase space in a small apartment - competent zoning. You need to create five main areas:

  • kitchen area
  • sleeping place
  • workspace
  • recreation area
  • bathroom and toilet
  • Closet (optional)

Divide the space into zones by using different methods. Below are the most popular ones.

zoning furniture

Such a method is also called "conditional" division. In this case, do not use any additional items except furniture.

build partitions

Partitions can be made of any material. The most popular are plasterboard, glass and wood. Also, you can divide the space with the help of shelving.

hang curtains

Curtains are good that they can move, and can be easily removed when desired. We use light curtains of light shades, otherwise they "eat" space.

We use light colors in the decoration

Permissible to paint one wall in a dark color to create vibrant visual element. All the rest is better to paint the walls in bright colors.

I recommend the use of gray and light-blue shades. Beige obscure and overloaded space.

hang a mirror

A great way to visually continue the available space - to hang a mirror. You can use an entire mirrored wall or floor to limit and wall mirrors.

Add more light sources

Since we have already decided to zone the room, you can choose your own lighting for each zone. On the desktop set work lamps, chest of drawers table lamp with shade. For a dining table use luminairesAnd next to the sofa set floor lamp.

I hope you liked the material. If you want to see more of this in your stream - put Like and share with your friends.
