That I just have not tried in an attempt to defeat the Colorado potato beetle. In one year I used the dry methods of struggle, such as:
- Cornmeal dusting;
- Dusting with ashes;
- Powdering dry cement or gypsum.
However, little or no effect was not followed. Rain washed away all my posypku, whereby efforts were reduced to nothing. The following year, I have tried different kinds of teas, such as:
- Broth based on poplar leaves;
- Broth-based walnut shell;
- A decoction of the flowers of sunflower.
But, unfortunately, they, too, did not give long-term effect.
Just last year, I came across a recipe for a solution of water and tar. At first it seemed to me very doubtful, but I still decided to try it. In several liters of water needed to dilute the liquid birch tar, whereupon a solution process the potatoes. However, to do this was not easy at all. Oily liquid does not want to dissolve in water. So I went to the trick.
My recipe
As a basis I took a solid tar soap, which is rubbed into a fine poroshochek solution in 20-25 liters of water.
Originally, I had planned to divorce one soap per 10 liters, but the solution will be too saturated, so I added more water.
How to apply
At first, I sprinkled the bushes once in 3-4 days, but it was too expensive. Firstly, soap worth the money. Secondly, it takes a lot of time and effort. Optimum spraying appeared once in 7-10 days.
The beetles were gone immediately, it took about three weeks. However, it helped!
