This miracle method came to my mind when I needed to tighten a lot of self-tapping screws. The main thing that had to be achieved was that the head of the screws "hid" in the material.

As a rule, it is necessary to tighten the self-tapping screws when covering wooden floors with OSB sheets. Then the base turns out to be even and smooth, on top of it you can put linoleum. If the decorative coating is laid directly on the floorboards, then over time it will take their shape.

I was not the first to use the method described below; experienced builders did it before me. It doesn't matter who invented and applied it, it is important that it really works and helps to complete the work several times faster.

What is the essence

I recommend using this method when working with soft materials. First you need to drill a small depression in the material using a bit.

Then screw a self-tapping screw into it. As a result, the cap will "hide" and will not spoil the coating laid on it.

I have tried this method with wood, chipboard and plywood. In no case did he fail!

However, I warn you that the method is not universal. In some cases, you cannot do without drilling and countersinking. If you need to screw in a lot of self-tapping screws over a large area, which in the future will be covered with decorative material, then such a life hack will be very appropriate.
