I am not one of those who like to spend large sums on buying various insect repellents. But somehow it is necessary to fight them, because their neighbors are not the best!
When I was little, in the summer we went to see my grandmother in the village. Her house was right next to the river. Before letting the guests into the house, the grandmother performed a simple ritual. She lit the stove and put a frying pan on it.
After heating the pan well, she sprinkled two tablespoons of camphor powder on it. As the camphor evaporated, it smoked heavily.
Grandmother walked quickly through all the rooms with a steaming frying pan. Then she put it on the board, she herself went out into the street, tightly closing the door.
The population of insects in the house after such a ritual sharply declined. Half an hour later, grandmother swept out whole heaps of flies, mosquitoes, ants, moths, etc.
Naturally, running into the house in the evening, we again let the insects in. To eradicate them, the grandmother again did her miracle procedure.
Camphor has a pungent, rich smell, so insects die instantly. The plus is that this product is absolutely natural, as it consists of fir, laurel and resin.
You can use charcoal to keep the pan from getting dirty.
When camphor powder hits hot coals, it immediately begins to smoke. This method is suitable even for open areas. For example, if you are going on a picnic, you can drive away insects with thick camphor clouds.
Camphor oil or alcohol is also suitable to repel flies and mosquitoes. Believe me, the effect will be noticeable. To get rid of blood-sucking insects indoors before bed, put camphor oil in a mug of boiling water and let it sit in the room for about 20 minutes.
I would also like to note that camphor is often found in the composition of mosquito plates. This means that its effectiveness in the fight against insects is very high. And the main advantage of the method is its budget!
