Tips for those who go to the sauna for the first time

A visit to the bathhouse requires knowledge of the basic rules that will help maintain health and enjoy the procedures. In this post I have collected all the most important tips that are periodically forgotten by bath attendants.

Tip # 1

Many people believe that heatstroke is possible only under the rays of a hot sun - but this is not at all the case. If you do not want to sleep with dizziness and symptoms of poisoning the next day, get a felt hat before going to the bathhouse.

The hat should sit freely on the head - no tight fitting. It will not only protect you from heat, but will also keep your hair dry.

Tip # 2

After watching a movie of how people mercilessly "beat" each other with brooms in the baths, many visitors try to repeat this trick. And completely in vain. A broom is not a rod, and it is pointless to hit it with all your might on the skin. Irregular blows will result in nasty abrasions or even wounds. Steamy skin is more susceptible to damage. Remember that the broom is designed for massage, not punishment.

Tip # 3

When going to the bath, you need to take care not only of the head, but also of the legs. As with the hat, felt is your best friend. It resists getting wet and provides reliable protection. Neglecting slippers can lead to unpleasant consequences such as mycosis of the feet or nails. A bathhouse (even your own one) can be filled with accumulated bacteria, from which you need to have minimal protection.

Tip # 4

The bath requires constant attention to itself. It is necessary to clean it after each use. If you neglect this rule, the bath will quickly turn into a breeding ground for pathogenic bacteria. After the first visit, it is advisable to accustom yourself to wet processing of the bath.

For these purposes, ordinary laundry soap is suitable. I would also advise you to regularly treat the wooden bath with an antiseptic against mold.

Tip # 5

If you are not used to high temperatures in the bath, then prepare yourself for the first visit in advance. An ordinary warm shower is suitable for this - in order to increase the body temperature. In this case, the temperature difference will not be felt so much. You don't need to wet your hair while showering. If you really want to, you can slightly moisten the bath cap. It will not be superfluous to swim in the pool for 15-20 minutes to strengthen the muscles.

Tip # 5

Another common mistake that many novice bath attendants make is wiping the body and blow-drying your hair. Experienced "visitors" of the steam room know very well that the moisture after the bath should be allowed to dry on its own and be absorbed into the skin.

In addition, the hair will not at all like the attack, first with steam, and then with dry air. This feature should be adopted by women in the first place.

Tip # 6

The key to a good trip to the bathhouse is the ability to steam. If you throw water on stones in large quantities, then you will flood them. As a result, they will not give enough heat, and the procedure will be ruined. The portions of water should be small, they should be directed to the very heat of the stove.

The characteristic cotton is a sign of correct steam delivery. In addition to water, I advise you to try herbal infusions (lemon balm, sage, linden, etc.) with oils and kvass.
