All kinds of models of sauna stoves are presented in hardware stores. But sometimes the owner of the bath wants to make his own unit that would meet all the needs. It is easy to assemble a homemade stove, the main thing is to take into account safety rules when installing it.

Handy tools

A standard furnace tool kit consists of:

  • welding machine;
  • manual electric drill;
  • metal cutting tools;
  • building level.

As materials you need to prepare:

  • metal pipe (length - 1500 mm, diameter - 500 mm, wall thickness from 1 cm);
  • hooks (metal) - 10 pcs.;
  • hinges (metal) - 10 pcs.;
  • rods (metal);
  • stones for generating steam.

The prepared pipe is cut into two parts: 90 and 60 cm each. The first part is used as a pallet firebox and a pallet for stones. The short part will become the main one for the tank in which the water is heated.

Furnace installation step by step

Furnace manufacturing consists of several stages:

1. take 90cm part of the pipe and make a hole in its bottom 200 * 50 mm. The hole serves as a blower;

2. over the blower, weld a metal round plate thick 10 mm;

3. install the grate: cut a hole in the pipe body and weld 4 ears to it - to secure the grate;

4. to create the door of the combustion chamber, take the remains of the pipe. Fasten the door on the body with prepared hinges and hooks;

5. use the latches to fix the doors in the closed position;

6. use the 60 cm pipe to make the stove. Weld it to above the combustion chamber so that the gap from the top to the bottom of the mechanism is 10 cm;

7. weld the back wall of the pipe and make doors with sides of 300 mm;

8. fill the stove halfway with stones. To prevent stones from scattering, build a grate of metal rods.

Installing the stove in the bath

After assembly, the crucial moment comes to move the stove to the bath. Installation of the structure is as follows:

1. install a tank for heating water: for this, weld a round steel billet to the bottom of the 60-cm part of the pipe;

2. make a 15 cm hole in the welded circle and install a steel semicircle at the top of the tank;

3. make a hole in the semicircle for the flue pipe. Close the open section of the upper part of the tank with a semicircular lid;

4. fix the lid on a semicircular workpiece welded to the tank;

5. pass the chimney pipe through the prepared holes;

6. make a hole at the bottom of the tank to fix the tap that drains hot water.

Important rules

When installing the stove in a bath, you must remember a few basic principles:

  • the doors of the combustion chamber are located opposite the entrance doors;
  • to install a metal furnace, a special foundation is needed, which is laid using refractory bricks;
  • after installing the oven, it is recommended to overlay the structure with bricks - for fire safety reasons.
When all the installation work is completed, it is time to check the oven. A test run is mandatory, since before use you need to make sure that the unit is in good working order. The test takes place in a bathhouse without strangers.
