One day Leha came up with an idea to build a bathhouse. The task seems to be simple. Get a log house, dig it up, sheath it from the inside properly, equip a dressing room and a steam room. But the main stumbling block was precisely the frame. For a log house, you need either logs or a bar. In Lehi's storerooms, there are not many - old boards and half a cube of lining.
But Lech was ready for difficulties and did not think to give in to them. He began by digging a hole - such a huge one. People ask - why do you need such a healthy foundation pit? Lech proudly answers - I'm doing a bath. Looks like a bathhouse will be wow if such an area is allocated only for the foundation. The sandy walls were about to crumble, but Lech solved the problem simply - he sewed it up with boards. The depth at the pit is three meters, no less. Not otherwise, as a laz to Australia is planned)
Lech spent time with the bathhouse until the last days of summer. Construction was delayed for a known reason - there are no materials, but you are holding on. In those days, it was not bad in the country that with high-quality wood - it would be normal to find nails. But the difficult conditions only provoked Leha. With enviable persistence, he took out roofing material, boards, and lining - he even cut off the notorious nails somewhere.
The pit walls turned out to be double, the gap was carefully filled with peat and pine needles. When the needles ran out, Lech started to overlap the pit level with the ground. Then things went quickly - I see that he is equipping a steam room with shelves, then he will weld a stove, then he will make a pipe from the roofing iron.
He drags stones for the stove from the river. To improve the space around the bath, Lech built a table, benches and provided the steam room with electricity and water supply.
When the outlines of the bath began to take shape, Leha's ingenious idea reached curious observers. For ordinary mortals, the baths look up, and for Leha - down. The author's concept of this bath claimed the title of an engineering masterpiece and demanded, if not a medal, then at least a certificate of honor.
The only drawback of the bath is the access hole. Laz turned out just like the Bryansk partisans in the forest hideout from the Gestapo. But this is not fatal at all, you get used to it with time. Lech is a secular person. After the experimental heating of the stove, I immediately invited my friends to try the first steam. Someone was afraid “that something might not work out,” while someone took kvass and birch brooms with them.
Contrary to all the negative forecasts of envious people - the first pancake did not come out lumpy. The steam room keeps warm with a bang, the steam from the heater is beyond praise. All the men took a steam bath that evening from the bottom of their hearts - they didn't want to go home yet. We dispersed somehow after midnight, when we had already agreed on a new meeting at the same place.
Autumn met our village with continuous rains and high humidity. How water streams from the earthen roof burst into Lekhina's steam room. And Lehe, if only henna - the master is already busy with another matter, he does not sit still for a long time. He is already planning a new ambitious project: rebuilding the house according to his own plan. But as they say, this is a completely different story.
