Pool types
Pools that complement bath complexes are of two types:
- closed (located in the building);
- open (located in the open air).
Outdoor pool type needs a canopy that will protect against debris, dust and foreign objects getting into the water. For the construction of a lightweight canopy, plexiglass is used. The design can be arched or spherical.
The indoor pool does not need additional protection, because it is indoors. There are two options for placing an indoor pool: under the same roof with a bath or as a separate building.
Pools can be square, round or shaped in shape (according to the customer's wishes). The most practical option is the round pool, as it is easiest to clean up accumulated dirt.
Swimming pool construction stages
The first step in laying a pool is to design a sewerage system. The sewer pipe is laid with a moderate slope towards the drainage pit. The distance between the drainage pit and the building must be at least 5 meters. The thickness of the concrete base under the basin of the reservoir must be at least 15 centimeters.
Preparation of the foundation of the future pool includes the following steps:
- Pour on the bottom of the pit 5 cm layer of sand, fill it with water, level and tamp;
- Lay a layer of crushed stone (crushed stone must be selected in fine fractions). The layer of material should be not less than 10 cm - after laying it must be compacted;
- Pour the first layer of concrete on top of the sand-crushed stone pillow 10 cmfollowed by a second. The second layer has the same thickness, and is equipped with a reinforced mesh for reliability;
- Concrete the walls of the bowl: install a wooden formwork, inside which to place a reinforcing mesh, poured with concrete mortar;
- Using a bayonet, achieve the connection of the concreted walls with the concreted bottom;
- Cover the walls and bottom with a waterproofing layer (polyethylene film is suitable as a material).
Pipeline laying
The construction of the pipeline network is one of the most difficult operations in the process of creating a bath complex with a swimming pool. When buying pipes, four criteria matter:
- materials;
- pipe diameter;
- pool bowl area;
- design load on the pipeline system.
Stainless steel and non-ferrous metals are distinguished by a high degree of strength. Pipes made of such materials are popular in the market due to their durability. It is not recommended to choose pipes with a diameter less than 4 cm. A small hole leads to frequent contamination and the need for regular cleaning. In addition, the larger the diameter, the faster the pool will fill.
Example of a project of a bath with a pool
A one-storey bathhouse built of rounded logs. The total area of the complex is 77 m2, and dimensions: 9.25 * 15.5 meters. The bath complex includes three zones - a covered barbecue area, a swimming pool (20.5 m2), a relaxation room (21 m2).
The bathhouse itself consists of three rooms - a steam room, a shower room and a bathroom. A terrace is attached to the main building of the bathhouse. The entrance to the building passes through the vestibule.
