Installation of an external chimney

The installation of an external chimney is preceded by a calculation of the number of elements. It depends on which part of the roof the chimney is located and how much you plan to raise it. There are standard numerical ratios for pipe to roof heights.

Installation of an external chimney is as follows:

1. Mark on the wall the space from the bottom of the stove to the smoke outlet. Set aside the width of the oven and nozzle. Trace the marks with a marker and draw a rectangle.

2. Using a jigsaw, carefully remove the intended section of the wall. Use a knife to remove any insulation material from the wall.

3. Protect the wall from high temperatures with non-combustible boards (thickness: thirty millimeters). Make a hole in the stove for the future pipe. Attach the board to the wall using self-tapping screws. Cover the floor with a protective screen.

4. From the outside of the bath, outline the material to be removed and remove it with an electric drill and a jigsaw.

5. Place a thermal insulation layer (mineral wool) where the chimney crosses the wall. The mineral wool is placed along the contour of the opening made with the foil surface inside.

6. Start assembling the chimney. At the first stage of assembly, you will need a bracket, a tee and a horizontal section from the oven. Secure all parts of the chimney with clamps and tighten the bolts. Seal the connections with sealant. Assemble the support bracket.

7. Extend the chimney upward, fixing the structure with clamps and a layer of sealant. Install wall fixing parts every two meters.

8. Establish a section of the roof overhang. Elbows are selected based on the characteristics of the roof. The standard option is a 135 degree knee. Assemble the structure and connect it to the straight part of the chimney.

9. Return to the bath and attach the mono adapter to the section of pipe that emerges from the wall. Install the gate, move the stove and attach its branch pipe to the gate.

When laying the chimney, only use tools with an insulated cover. For a safe installation, it is important to calculate the location of the chimney in advance.

Installation of an internal chimney

The structure of the internal chimney is similar to the structure of the external one. Its elements are also attached to each other with clamps and sealant. The installation process includes the following steps:

1. Put insulating material on the floor and place the oven on it. Connect the branch pipe to a single-walled chimney.

2. Straight pipe attach a tank for heating water and a slide valve (this kit can be replaced with a heater and a smoke valve). Install the adapter;

3. Assemble the straight section of the chimney. The elements turn with the corrugated surface downwards - this rule protects the insulation from condensation.

4. Proceed with the arrangement of the passage through the roof. Mark the location of the chimney on the ceiling and make a square hole. Saw out a portion of the beam - if necessary - and reinforce it with cross braces.

5. Cover the straight part of the chimney with a metal box. Make sure that the inner diameter of the duct and the diameter of the chimney match.

6. Extend the chimney with a vertical piece. The joint must be below the ceiling groove.

7. Press the box to the ceiling trim and fix with self-tapping screws.

8. Go to the attic. Treat the area between the walls of the box and the ceiling with basalt cardboard. Pour expanded clay into the box or cover the space with foil mineral wool.

9. Extend the chimney vertically. If necessary, install wall console supports (the interval between them is at least 2 meters)
