Irezine- an amazing plant that unites 80 species of herbaceous "flowers", shrubs and trees. Bulky and small-sizedoptions fit perfectly into the home interior and the design of any garden.
"Raisin" of landscape design
Two types of this decorative groundcover are especially popular with gardeners - linden and herbst.
They are especially attractive due to their rich color - from burgundy, purple and red-brown to yellow-green (much less often).
They also love him for his incredible growth rate: while the rest of the garden "inhabitants" are gathering strength, Irezine is already happy with rich spreading bushes.
With natural development, the bush can grow from half a meter and more, but compact bushes look more beautiful on the flower bed and borders, which can be formed by pinching the upper shoots.
Growing conditions
Irezine is not whimsical enough to care, but certain conditions for its comfortable living are nevertheless necessary:
- Well lit place
- Moderate watering
- Neutral or slightly acidic soil
- Mineral and organic fertilizing
Irezine is home to South America and Australia - continents where there is no harsh winter. Therefore, if you want this rainbow fairy tale to please you next year, in September the plant must be moved into the house.
Summer on the windowsill
In a winter apartment, a pot of Irezine will remind you of the colorful summer every day. The conditions for caring for a plant in the house are not much different from outside: a lot of light, regular but moderate watering, fertilizing with fertilizers and surface spraying of foliage.
The main thing when transplanting a ground cover into a pot is not to forget about good drainage (for example, from crushed brick or expanded clay), and add a little sand and peat to the soil.
New life
At the end of winter, I again prepare Irezine for the "move." I cut the layers of young side shoots and put them in a vase. A fabulous bouquet has been on my table all spring, quickly giving roots. It is enough just to regularly change the water in the vase. And in May, I transplant ready-made seedlings into the ground.
I am making a wonderful gift to all my friends at the end of September. Since in my garden Irezine bushes frame rather long sidewalk curbs, there is a lot of "transplant" material.
I buy beautiful pots, transplant "crimson bonfires" there and distribute them to remember the summer to everyone who wants to cheer up the sad autumn mood.
