Transplanting tomato seedlings into the ground pleases gardeners, but it is a rather serious stress for plants. Today I will give some tips on how to do this as painlessly as possible for young tomatoes.

Here, as in the good old Russian fairy tales - first you need to properly feed, drink and put to sleep. 😊

Feed

I'm digging a spacious hole. I fall asleep in it with a shovel humus, double superphosphate (1 tsp), potassium sulfate (0.5 tsp) and half a glass of wood ash. Potassium markedly improves the flavor of tomatoes by increasing the accumulation of sugars. And ash, or rather, the calcium contained in it, will not allow to start on fruits top rot.

Wikipedia: Average content in ash, used as a fertilizer, compounds containing the basic elements of plant nutrition.

As the “gourmets” grow, tomatoes should be regularly fed with both mineral, organic and complex fertilizers.

Get drunk

I pour water into the hole with the "food" (always warm!). I dip a lump of earth with a plant into the resulting "porridge" and sprinkle it with soil. When planting in this way, the roots are practically not injured.

AND EVERYTHING! I forget about them for 2 weeks! No watering during this period! The main thing is to endure and not succumb to excitement or pity for the plants. 😊 Do not be afraid, nothing bad will happen to your tomatoes.

If you can stand it and don't water your tomatoes 2 weeks after planting, they will form a strong and powerful root system. That, in turn, will enable your plants to please you with a rich harvest.

BUT do not forget about timely watering with further care. Lack of moisture can lead to various diseases of tomatoes and even plant death.

To sleep

My tomatoes have to "sleep" while they are tied up. The blanket is cut grass mulch, so the moisture after watering evaporates gradually.

Grazing tomatoes I try in moderation, with a break of several days. A one-time "global" procedure can cause rolling leaves and "eternal sleep".

Comfortably accommodate

The amount of the obtained crop depends on many factors. One of the first is the correct distance between bushes when planting.

In different years I tried to experiment and planted tomato seedlings differently. As a result, I came to the conclusion that the optimal arrangement for me (!) Is:

· For determinant (undersized) varieties - position 60/60 cm;

· For indeterminate (tall) plants - 90 cm between plants, 1 m between rows.

And one more important point ...

Tomatoes grow best where they "lived" last season cucumbers, onions, legumes or cabbage. It is not recommended to grow tomatoes from year to year in the same place, because larvae remain in the soil that harm exactly nightshade crops.

The landing site should be very well lit by the sun - at least 6 hours a day. But, at the same time, it is closed from direct gusts of wind and drafts. Good luck, colleague gardeners! You - strength, health and patience, your tomatoes - growth, health and generosity!

By the way! I almost forgot to ask you to view a funny gif photo (below) :)

I invite you with all my heart - I am glad to see you! :) Put your fingers up, I will be very pleased. 😊And also I look forward to seeing you on my new website."4 SEASONS OF THE GARDENER"
