In the struggle for a high yield of your favorite zucchini, all means are good - if only they are safe and, preferably, inexpensive. This motto is promoted by many gardeners, and I am in their ranks.
My assistant not only in everyday life and for cuts, but also in the garden is ammonia. I use it as a top dressing for zucchini and some other vegetables, as well as to rid the beauties of squash from the melon aphids that sometimes hit them.
The aroma of ammonia repels pests, and since the drug is an aqueous solution of ammonia, it is an excellent source of easily digestible nitrogen. Thus, the drug allows save money and not to purchase expensive store-bought fertilizers containing nitrogen necessary for plants.
Symptoms of nitrogen starvation in zucchini:
- Growth slows down in bushes.
- The leaves become pale or even turn yellow.
- Also, the usually strong deciduous mass is shallow and looks a little sluggish even with sufficient watering;
- Lack of flowering at the right time.
Also, ammonia allows you to avoid problems with an insufficient number of zucchini ovaries and fragility of the bush stems. After processing zucchini bushes with this preparation, I have no doubt that the ground and root parts of the plant will be healthy and lush.
Salmon is also useful for greenhouse plants. It helps in better production of chlorophyll, without which complete photosynthesis is impossible. Without it, greenhouse plants develop poorly and bear fruit.
How to prepare a solution for plant root feeding
Add 3 tablespoons of ammonia to a bucket of rainwater. Pour at least 2 liters of solution under each bush. It is necessary to water the plant from a watering can without a sprinkler just at the root. It is only necessary to saturate the root system with the solution so that the greens remain dry.
If aphids attacked your zucchini, then you need to make the following solution: 50 ml of ammonia in a bucket of water. With this mixture, with a break of 10 days, 2 times it is necessary to spray the leaves and stems of squash bushes. As you can see, such a cheap and familiar remedy as ammonia can be a real boon for your zucchini.
