A valuable vegetable that stimulates appetite and improves digestion, has been appreciated since ancient times. It is widely used for cooking savory dishes and in conservation. There are several peculiarities in growing garlic.
Garlic planting tricks
Winter garlic is most often grown. It reproduces by teeth, - by slices of bulbs. Before landing, you need to do the following:
✔ Prepare in advance a garden bed located in an elevated place and located from south to north.
✔ The best precursors for garlic are peas, cucumbers or potatoes.
✔ It is better to dig up and form a bed 3 weeks before the onset of frost. It must settle before landing.
Seed material - strong, undamaged teeth should be held for 2 hours in a weak solution of potassium permanganate for the prevention of diseases.
✔ Along the length of the bed, mark parallel lines at a distance of 20 cm from each other and make grooves 6 - 8 cm deep. With an interval of 8 - 10 cm. mark the holes, into each of which "stick" the clove down with the bottom. Fill the grooves with soil, scatter compost on top or lay down rotten straw.
✔ With the onset of frost, cover with spruce branches from above, which will trap snow and create additional shelter.
From germination to harvest
✔ The first sprouts of garlic appear immediately after the snow melts, at the end of March. At this time, you need to feed the young greens with a solution of ammonium nitrate (20 g. to dissolve granules in a bucket of water). Repeat the procedure after 2 - 3 weeks. (Or use one cool fertilizer, which I'll write later.)
✔ Water in the absence of precipitation after 10 days, after watering, loosen the soil near the bulbs to a depth of no more than 3 cm.
✔ During the formation of the head in June and July, water the valuable vegetable with an ash solution, which will enrich the soil with potassium, which is necessary for the growth of the head.
✔ Arrows that have reached 12 - 15 cm in length must be broken out so that nutrients are not consumed for seed formation. Tie the garlic leaves in a knot, then all the plant's forces will be directed to the growth of the bulb.
✔ It is good if calendula grows in the aisle of the garlic bed, this will prevent the leaves from turning yellow. To prevent rusting, you can spray the plants with a solution of hot pepper.
✔ Garlic should not be overexposed in the ground, otherwise it will be poorly stored. It is recommended to dig up the bulbs in dry, sunny weather, when the lower leaves turn yellow.
✔ When growing garlic, crop rotation must be observed. It is recommended to return to the previous place only after 4 years.
BTW! There is one very wonderful fertilizer that: 1) Accelerates the ripening of the crop. 2) Helps to get large bulbs. 3) Enhances healing properties. 4) Increases productivity and keeping quality. It costs a penny, and the result, believe me, is simply excellent.
It contains ALL the macro- and micro-elements necessary for garlic and onions. It's called that - "FOR ONION AND GARLIC". I've been buying it for a long time Here, it may be useful to you, if it has not been disassembled yet, of course. Good harvests and delicious consequences, everyone! ツ
