Dill, it would seem, is the most unpretentious garden culture. But for someone it grows like a weed - by itself, while someone has to make considerable efforts to grow a vitamin crop.

But everyone undoubtedly wants dill to rise and grow as soon as possible - after all, this is actually the first vitamin in our beds!

And there is a way that you can accelerate the growth of dill for two whole weeks!

Seed selection

It is very important to choose the right dill seeds. Better to take packages marked "abundantly leafy". Consistently good results from year to year give "Salute","Alligator" and "Russian giant".

Bathing

Seeds should be poured with hot (40-45% water) and allowed to stand for 10-15 minutes. Then drain this water and pour in the same way two more times. Wrap the washed seeds for a couple of days in a damp cloth, rinse them daily with warm water and keep at a temperature of 25 degrees.

Why are such difficulties? The fact is that dill contains a lot of essential oils that inhibit seed growth. Such "hot baths" wash out these essential oils, and the seeds are activated.

Correct housewarming

When the seeds swell and begin to germinate, they need to be planted in a ridge.

I make shallow grooves (2-3 cm) in the soil, spill them abundantly with warm water and place the seeds. Sprinkle the seeds with earth and water them again.

When shoots appear, dill will need to be fed - with a weak solution of compost (1 liter per 5 liters of water). Repeat the procedure twice a week.

And of course, mandatory daily watering - dill does not like "dehydration".

If all of the above conditions are met, you will harvest strong, aromatic dill in just 3 weeks. And you can immediately start planting the second batch - I harvest the dill crop three times during the summer! I prepare it for the whole coming winter: dry land, salt and freeze it.

Very important!

1. Dill loves light. You need to plant it on the sunniest side. In the shade, the dill stalks will be weak and you can immediately forget about a quick harvest.

2. In order for the dill bush to "share" with you the delicate greens as long as possible, when the first umbrellas appear, they need to be pinched. At this point, you will soon see a juicy young shoot.

Even easier

If you do not want to mess with "bathing" and soaking, and you need to feast on the first greens by May, you can simply sow seeds... in the greenhouse. The greenhouse effect, with regular watering, loosening and feeding, will very quickly bring fruits, vitamins and good mood!
