My wife comes from a small town on the outskirts of the Rostov region (200 km. from the metropolis), there I met Suren about 10 years ago. At that time, he lived very poorly, a courtyard of 15 hundred, inherited, an old house of the 1960s and a Zhiguli made in 89.
How surprised I was to see him this weekend! Have not seen each other for three years... He lives in the same place - in a village located 2 km away. from the town where the spouse was born. He has already put the house in order, landscaped the territory and drives a cargo Gazelle.
So... what is his garage production?
From all nearby villages and cities, people sell him waste paper for a penny: most of all newspapers, but there are also cardboard boxes, magazines and other paper products. Also, he agreed with some network Magnets and other kiosks that he takes all the waste paper for himself for a "hat of crackers" ...
In the garage, he set up a work area for himself and makes "paper firewood" or fuel paper briquettes from newspapers.
He works alone, has established his own "paper" circulation and half of the yard is occupied with these products. Now, preparations are in full swing for the heating season, which is already on its way ...
To those who bring him newspapers, he exchanges them for his "fuel" at a discount, to the rest he sells briquettes from 700 to 1100 rubles. per cubic meter, depending on the delivery distance.

There is nothing fancy about production. Thin paper, such as newspapers or pages from books, is crushed into strips with a cutter or ax and soaked in buckets of water for about an hour, cardboard and other thick paper - soaked for 3 hours.
Next, he places the wet shredded paper under the press, thereby squeezing the water through the molds with holes. After that, the briquette is squeezed out and sent for drying in the sun or in a heated room. Drying takes 3-5 days. Everything!
The paper does not need binders and, when softened, is itself an excellent glue, therefore no glue or any other compounds are needed, only newspapers, water, a grinder and a press!
According to Suren, he started by making ordinary balls, pressed by hand, which he sold for a penny. and only then began to use a press, and as molds - pieces of PVC sewer pipes 50, 110 and 160 mm.
Productivity - about 2 cubic meters per day, or ~ 2000 rubles, which for a village with an average income of 10,000 - 12,000 rubles / month. not bad at all.
People come to him from everywhere for briquettes, and so far - the turnover is growing from year to year. They are bought for heating country houses, garages and greenhouses.
Of the investments - only a used press and a homemade manual paper shredder, for which no more than 3 thousand rubles were spent. There are plans to purchase an industrial shredder, as shredding takes most of the production time.
