Good afternoon, dear guests and subscribers of the "Build for myself" channel!

The season for outdoor activities has already begun, and the mosquito season is just approaching. The owners of summer cottages and private houses increasingly go out into the fresh air without outerwear. The first warm evenings are very pleasing, and as soon as the night temperature stabilizes at + 10 ° C, all insects become active, including annoying mosquitoes, unloved by everyone.

And here sprays, bracelets, spirals and various mosquito traps can barely cope, and the next evening they attack us again. And in fact, all these funds cannot be stocked up for the entire warm season.

Let's try to figure out why mosquitoes bite us, and what is even more interesting, they do not bite everyone in a row, but selectively.

Today, there are many different opinions as to why some people are more attractive to mosquitoes than others. But science already knows for sure that the key to mosquito selectivity is body chemistry, which they sense at a distance of 30 to 50 m.

I think it's no secret that each of us has a different body odor, which depends not only on genetics, but also on the secreted lactic acid and the secretion that our sweat glands produce. And the smell of the latter is precisely formed on the basis of the food that we eat.

Indeed, depending on what a person eats, it depends on how attractive he becomes to mosquitoes. There are products that completely put the barrier on the way to your body without the use of chemicals, which will be discussed below ...

Repellent products

1. Tomato (tomato), carrot, cabbage

These vegetables are rich in vitamin B1 (thiamine). The mammalian body cannot synthesize this vitamin on its own, except for ruminants. It has already been proven that an organism that consumes a sufficient amount of B1 in food is completely unattractive to mosquitoes.

2. Chili pepper)

I don't think it's worth talking a lot about this pepper, because even if you put it cut next to you, mosquitoes won't even fly up close. The active substance is capsaicin, which is an irritant for most living things.

3. Asparagus, green peas, cauliflower and beans

These foods are similar to tomatoes, which are very high in thiamine. When eaten, they change the secretion of the body, the smell of which perfectly repels mosquitoes.

4. Onion and garlic

These products have a very valuable chemical compound - allicin, thanks to which, since ancient times, both onions and garlic have been used as a natural repellent. Like any chemical compound, these foods change body odor as soon as they are digested by the intestines.

5. Grapefruit

Contains a very valuable substance - nootkaton - a natural non-toxic repellent, pesticide and insecticide. Unpleasant to all insects without exception.

As you can see, the products contain only plant foods. Eat more vitamins and fiber-rich foods, not only against mosquitoes, but also for your immunity. In general, choosing the right diet at the family table on a warm evening on the veranda is an effective way to prevent mosquito bites without harmful sprays.
