My wife and I decided to demolish the old brick shed left over from the previous owners. In the same shed there was also a cellar in which the well is located, although I have not yet explored its depth and it is 10 years old, but the fact is that this is a well and I am going to run it for irrigation. At the place of the cellar, it was decided to make a water hatch, just where the water connection to the new house will be, and in the same place I will put a small pumping station on the well for irrigation. I think there is no point in filling this hole, it is better to use it with benefit.
So, disassembling the floor, I was surprised to find that the ceiling consists of 100 mm metal pipes. and pressed clay on top. The cellar was 2x2x2 m and pipes were laid as beams every 10-15 cm. Old clothes and plastic bags are piled on the pipes, on top of everything there is clay with a layer of 30 cm. Rather, the clay that was taken out when digging the cellar.
I counted 34 pipes of 3.5 m. While I was dismantling and moving them, I almost tore my stomach. Each kilogram is exactly 30. By the rust, I can judge that the overlap was in place for 10-15 years, and the well must have been for so many years. In total, about a ton of rotten scrap metal half full of earth came out to the eye.
Don't throw it away, I thought. I called a mobile ferrous metal acceptance.
They examined my "good" and began to bargain. We agreed that for rotten pipes -30% of the weight, where it was not possible to knock out the earth from the pipe, another -30%.
Take out the electronic scales.
I say: "How will we check?"
Receivers: "Don't worry, brother, go become, you know your weight?"
I got on the scales, 96 kg, well, plus / minus everything is correct.
They say: "Let us load 100 kg each so that the scales do not break."
On this and decided. The three of them arrived, two of them carry, one stands near the scales and writes the weight in a notebook. And off you go, first batch, second, third, bam... And on the fourth it remains a little bit. Total: 326 kg. How so?
In my head, I scrolled through the situations with deception, but did not understand how they did it in front of my nose, respectively, I thought that I was deceived and did not believe myself when I figured out by eye that the total weight was about a ton.
After they left, I slowly began to realize that 34 pipes of 3.5 meters each could not weigh 326 kg. I was not very upset, I got 2.5 tr. practically nothing, but still a little offensive.
The next day I told my neighbor this case, it turns out that the receptionists worked like this: while I am standing away from the scales, they use "tare function", and this is the mode when the scales do not take into account the tare weight, and the tare could be 5 or 10 pipes, after which the scales are loaded to zero and begin to count the weight from the moment the button is pressed.
It looks like it was, they threw 5 pipes, turned on the "container" and the scales began to count the sixth from scratch. Something like this, friends... Be carefull!!!
