We wipe our feet, and the rug does not fidget. Nice solution to fix the rug on the doorstep (A tip for those who build a porch)

Good afternoon, dear guests and subscribers of my channel!

In this article, I want to describe an elegant method of fixing a rug in front of a threshold when entering a house.

Firstly, it is very comfortable, the mat does not fidget from the shuffling of the shoe soles. Secondly, there are no problems in replacing it, and thirdly, it is always easy to clean and does not need to be removed when cleaning.

Of course, the option I am describing is not suitable for everyone, but only for those who are in the process of building a porch or have not yet started, but are only planning to do it. The method is based on a small deepening of the rug over its entire area into the body of the porch.

So, how it was:

In the process of laying the stone, before reaching the final mark of the porch platform, I installed a sewer pipe with a slight slope. It is she who will be the pipe that drains water from under the rug in winter from melting snow on shoes or when washing the rug.

At the second stage, I laid out a plane out of stone, which will be the entrance platform in front of the door, but, having previously measured the length and width of my rug, I left a place for it.

In order not to stain the purchased rug in the cement mortar, I made a model of it from plywood. Thanks to its rigidity, you can easily and evenly lay out the stone side.

When the perimeter was ready, I set up beacons. Of course, lighthouses, - it is strongly said :-))) I put two inches on the level to fill the screed over them.

I cut out a bar that, as a rule, will slide along the beacons and filled in the screed. The height of the rug is 15 mm, the niche is made the same depth. I made a little mistake with the level of the drainage grate, but it doesn't matter, the next day I carefully cut a hole in the solidified screed.

A few more photos of what happened:

Now you can fill the seam between the stones so that your wife does not stumble on her heels :-))) and after a few days use the porch.

I really hope you like the solution. I think it will be practical! Always ready to answer your questions ...
