Good afternoon, dear guests and subscribers of my channel!

Foreword

Unfortunately, cement has not a low cost and it becomes very annoying when a dozen bags start to become unusable during long-term storage. Undoubtedly, it all depends on the correct storage and on the environmental conditions, but on average, even with sealed packaging - cement loses its activity by 5-7% for each month, in the case of household (home) storage - by 12-15%, and after six months, even by 50%.

Of course, miracles do not happen and I do not want to deceive you that the old five-year-old cement, turned into stone, can be restored, no, the article will discuss how to apply half-year cement with practically no loss of its properties, in which the formed stones have a low density and can be crushed in the process of mixing the mixture with water and mixing.

By the nature of my activity, I am faced with large volumes of cement purchases for the reconstruction of load-bearing elements of buildings and often we have to deal with situations when several dozen bags of unused cement. The craftsmen write it off and take it for personal use on the farm.

Even last year, I had a dialogue with the chief of the construction brigade, about why people take cement in such quantities, because for household needs it is still necessary 5-10 bags, but why write off every last object from each object, it will deteriorate and it is easier to dispose of it on the spot than to transport it to your home.

To which, I was clearly and clearly given the answer that half of the volume is sold among their acquaintances, and the rest, indeed, are taken by the workers for personal needs. But, for example, in October-November, almost no one needs cement, respectively, it is stored in sheds for six months until the next construction season, and if the cement cakes, we add glenium.

It is important that caked cement is not used in masonry mortars, but only in concrete, since only there is crushed stone in the composition, which, in the process of mixing, crushes lumps of cement into powder.

Now, more to the point... What is Glenium?

Glenium (GLENIUM) is the name of the line of hyperplasticizers. Hyperplasticizers are the latest generation plasticizers, made on the basis of polycarboxylates and polyacrylates, which can significantly increase the characteristics of concrete.

Their chemical reaction is based on the adsorption of molecules on grains of cement and the formation of a negative charge on the particles. Due to equally charged particles - such compounds repel them from each other and do not allow them to stick together, thereby "squeezing the maximum efficiency" out of every grain of cement.

Glenium is very widespread and popular among hyperplasticizers, the most demanded product is MasterGlenium 115. This is a professional new generation hyperplasticizer (not to be confused with various consumer superplasticizers such as C-3, etc.). Glenium 115 is a composition that allows you to increase the characteristics of the binder up to 40% and during its application, according to the master, you can freely replace the M500 Portland cement with the M300 slag Portland cement without loss of strength!

Possesses the following properties:

  • increases adhesion to reinforcement and increases water resistance up to W16 due to self-compaction of the mixture;
  • reduces concrete shrinkage and increases frost resistance up to F500;
  • allows to carry out monolithic work at a temperature of -15 ° C without heating.

You may think this article is advertising, but unfortunately - it doesn't. The presented material in no way implies a commercial purpose, but only tells that there are serious professional additives, information about which, including cement manufacturers, are not interested distribute.

The cost

Price per 1 kg bottle. is approximately 300 rubles, with a container of 11 kg. - a liter comes out to 220-250 rubles. (depending on the region).

The proportion is as follows:

  • with fresh cement, additive weight: 0.2-1% per 100 kg. cement;
  • with caked cement: 1.5-2% per 100 kg. cement.

It is possible that for one or two old bags of cement, the use of an additive is inappropriate due to the rather large cost of small containers, but if 500 kg were caked. cement, the costs will be justified.

I hope this article was useful to you! Thank you for your attention and good luck with the construction!
