More and more people are concerned about air quality. Home appliances began to appear that could measure several air parameters at once. I hold one of them in my hand.
I recently talked about a homemade outdoor air quality monitoring station (https://ammo1.livejournal.com/1114143.html), and before that he had repeatedly written about home meters of carbon dioxide level (https://ammo1.livejournal.com/932112.html).
Device Honeywell HAQ measures six parameters of indoor air at once:
- Content of carbon dioxide (CO2);
- Concentration of fine particles 2.5 microns (PM2.5);
- Concentration of volatile organic compounds (TVOC);
- Concentration of formaldehyde (HCHO);
- Temperature;
- Humidity.
Additionally, the overall air quality index (IQ%) is calculated. The device operates on battery power and from the network, transmits data via Wi-Fi to the manufacturer's server. The readings can be viewed both on the device screen and in the application, which also knows how to build graphs of changes in all parameters during the entire measurement time.
The set includes the device itself, a USB-MicroUSB cable and a user's manual. Any smartphone charger can be used as a power source.
The power and charging connector is located at the back.
On the sides there are slots covered with nets through which air is blown (a very quiet fan is constantly running inside the device). Above is the power button.
Behind the round dark glass is a square OLED touchscreen. Above it is an LED strip that lights up green when everything is fine, and yellow or red if the values are exceeded. After switching on, the screen shows the concentration of dust PM2.5.
The device does not automatically change the readings of different parameters. The six display types are divided into two screens. The first screen is PM2.5, HCCO, temperature-humidity. The corresponding parameter is shown after touching one of the three icons below.
To go to the second screen, press the arrow to the right of the main display and the device will go to the CO2 level display. By clicking on the TVOC and IQ% icons, you can go to the indication of the corresponding parameters.
Additionally, the screen shows the Wi-Fi signal strength and battery charge.
After one minute, all symbols are removed from the indicator, except for the values of the current parameter. After four minutes, the indicator goes out, only a flashing LED strip remains. In order to turn on the indicator, you need to press the button on top of the device.
The device works on battery power for about a day, so it makes sense to keep it always connected to a power source.
To connect the device to the Internet and view values on a smartphone, you need to install the Honeywell IAQ application. Registration in the application is implemented by phone number.
After completing the registration, you need to add the device. First, the device creates its own Wi-Fi network to which you need to connect.
Then you need to enter the name and password of the home Wi-Fi network, specify the city (just click the button "Location" and the city will be determined automatically), give a name to your device and indicate the room in which it costs.
The first screen shows PM2.5 value, temperature, humidity and air quality rating. When you click in the plate with readings, a screen opens with all the measured parameters. If you slide the screen down, the graph screen opens. If you slide up, the weather screen will open (information about it for the specified city is taken from the Internet).
The graph screen shows the changes in the six measured parameters and the overall IQ%. The graphs are shown in vertical screen mode, the exact values are not visible on them - they are intended for general monitoring of changes in air quality.
In the settings menu, you can select the indication mode on the device screen, set the alarm and turn on the LED off mode at night.
For each parameter, you can adjust the level at which the LED indicator color changes from green to yellow and red.
The app contains detailed tips explaining what the deviation of each of the air quality parameters affects.
The device uses an 18650 battery with a capacity of 2600 mAh.
The following sensors are used: non-dispersive infrared analyzer MH-Z19B (CO2), laser dust sensor PM2.5 PM2.5 HONEYWELL, electrochemical formaldehyde gas analyzer ZE08-CH2O WS160725115 (HCHO).
The undoubted advantage of the device is the measurement of four important parameters of air quality at once. As far as I know, there are no other devices with such a set of sensors. Another big plus is autonomy. You can take the device with you and measure the air quality at work, in transport, with friends and just outside.
In my opinion, the main disadvantage of the device is the screen that goes out after four minutes (it would be better if it was liquid crystal and worked constantly). I am also worried about the service life of the device, because its fan runs constantly, and electrochemical sensors do not have a very long service life.
Device Honeywell HAQ costs 13,990 rubles. By promo code HAQ you can get a 10% discount, after its application the price will decrease to 12,591 rubles.

The main topic of my blog is technology in human life. I write reviews, share experiences, talk about all sorts of interesting things. My second project - lamptest.ru. I test LED bulbs and help figure out which ones are good and which are not so good.
