Potato balls with mushrooms in the oven

When the usual mashed potatoes get bored, I cook potato balls with mushrooms in the oven - this dish perfectly saturates and decorates any table with its presence - whether it's a festive lunch or a regular dinner after a hard day's work.

This recipe was shared with me by a work colleague who does not miss the opportunity to surf the Internet in search of something "tasty and unusual". In general, I will not bore you anymore

First, let's prepare the necessary ingredients:

Potato;
Champignon mushrooms;
Carrot;
Onion;
Vegetable oil:
Favorite spices.


First of all, we clean the potatoes and boil them until tender. When the potatoes become soft, transform them into mashed potatoes with the help of a crush.

Chop the onion, cut the champignons into small pieces, and then combine with grated carrots and spices. Then we fry the whole thing in a pan until cooked with vegetable oil.

We rinse our hands with cold water and start sculpting potato balls, in each of which you will need to put a spoonful of mushroom filling. The principle of sculpting is very simple - first we make a circle out of mashed potatoes, then put the filling on it and, covering the mushrooms with another layer of mashed potatoes, form a ball.

When all the "semi-finished products" are ready, we send them to the dish and put it in the freezer for 30 minutes.

After the time has passed, we transfer the potato balls to a baking sheet covered with parchment paper, and send them to an oven preheated to 200 degrees for 40-50 minutes.

As soon as a beautiful golden crust appears on the balls, the dish can be transferred to a plate and served on the table - by this time, your kitchen will already be enveloped in an amazing mushroom aroma. If you like garlic, you can add a couple of cloves to the filling - this will make the potatoes even more flavorful.

Such balls can be either an independent dish or act as a hearty side dish. - they go well with both meat and fish!
