A technologist working at a confectionery factory told what the candy is made of. Now I stopped buying them

Modern sweets, or rather their composition, leave much to be desired. It seems to me that even the most expensive candies are not made for children. You read the composition and marvel at what is not there (and almost not a single familiar word). Manufacturers save on raw materials and have not worked in accordance with GOST for a long time, but do it to increase their profits.

An acquaintance of mine works as a technologist at a confectionery factory. After his story, I stopped buying candy in stores.

Anton (my friend) said that the "vegetable" basis of all modern sweets is Palm oil (which now you will not surprise anyone). Some scientists have argued that this product is “harmless”, but I'm still skeptical.

There are candies that are sold in cardboard boxes and without labels. I don’t understand at all why this is done (given the production capacity and excellently working printing companies).

The average consumer may not understand at all what is written on the label. Only a technologist can disassemble the composition and tell about its benefits. If you find "vegetable fat" in any product, it is 99% palm oil. These raw materials are very cheap, but not as high-quality and healthy (as candy manufacturers can claim).

Anton says that to our country palm oil comes in tons. The manufacturer is trying in every possible way to reduce the cost of production (but for some reason the prices do not decrease from this). It turns out that all the profit from the cheapening of goods goes into the pocket of the confectioners.

In Europe, the use of palm oil has long been banned, since this product cannot be used in cooking (palm oil can only be used in technical production, but not in food industry).

The harm of palm oil

Palm oil is the first step towards high cholesterol in the body. The fact is that this product contains a certain composition of acids that are difficult for our body to assimilate. As a result - "cholesterol plaques", impaired metabolism and a problem with blood vessels. In addition, the body is heavily slagged from palm oil, forming fatty tissue under the skin.

An acquaintance of mine said that even chocolate icing contains palm oil. It is best to replace store-bought candy with nuts, cereal bars, marshmallow (generally a natural product), kozinaki or homemade candy.

There are many recipes for making homemade sweets on the Internet, so even a novice housewife can prepare the most basic sweets.
