Grinder cut discs are a great tool for setting gaps before welding. We know for sure their thickness, we can use both one disc, and several, if you need a larger gap.
They break easily if they are not sanding discs. So one small disc can be run at several points of the gap setting. The most useful freebie!
Stubs of electrodes, everything is the same as with disks.
We know the exact size, there is a lot of this stuff in the garage (who has welding). It can be bent in the shape of a tick and can be safely used to set a gap before welding. Why bend a tick - on straight stubs, the material will roll relative to each other.
With a disc from the grinder, you can apply clearly visible markings on the metal. For example, with a piece of a corner and a disc, they apply precise markings to round pipes for cutting them at 90 degrees. This interesting way can be seen HERE
If you urgently need to fix some part to a piece of wood, and there are no nails at hand, then from stubs in a few seconds, you can make such pointed rods that will hold no worse nail.
The easiest and most obvious way to use cinder is to lay too much gap before welding on shaped pipes.
Friends, I left the most non-standard method of application for last. With a simple cinder, which we throw away, you can easily make complex markings on round pipes for joining them at any angle.
