The ripening process of the fruits of eggplant and pepper can be accelerated if you monitor the looseness of the soil in the beds. After each watering or rain, it is necessary to fluff the ground. Loose soil improves air flow to the root system, which has a positive effect on the ripening process of vegetables. During work on the site, you should not immerse garden tools in the ground deeper than 7 cm. Otherwise, you can damage the root system.
In order for the plant to direct all its forces to accelerate the ripening of fruits, a small hole must be made in its stem. To do this, take a sharp, clean knife. It is necessary to insert wood chips with a thickness of about 4-5 mm into the hole made.
Eggplants and peppers will ripen faster if the bushes are sprayed with a water infusion of ash. To prepare the solution, you will need 10 liters of water and 2 glasses of ash. Only the leaves must be treated with the resulting liquid.
If meteorologists promise frosts, and there are still poured, but not ripe fruits on the bushes, they can be saved. Peppers or eggplants are picked and then laid out in a basement or similar place. In the dark, vegetables will ripen quickly on their own.
To collect the maximum yield of cucumbers, it is necessary to cut the lower leaves from the bushes, lay the stems on the garden bed, and then sprinkle them with earth. In the soil, roots will begin to form on the stem, which will additionally nourish the cucumbers, which will allow the vegetables to grow.
To accelerate the ripening of potatoes, it is necessary to prepare an aqueous solution of copper sulfate (2%). The resulting liquid is irrigated with bushes 2 weeks before harvest. Another option that allows you to accelerate the ripening of root crops involves the preparation of an infusion of superphosphate (10 liters of water and 2 kg of fertilizer). Before use, the product should be infused for 2 days. Irrigation is carried out 2 weeks before harvest.
Stopping watering will help speed up the ripening of the onion. You should also partially break the heads - the bow should only be a quarter in the ground. If the weather is rainy, then several metal arcs should be installed on the garden bed and the film should be stretched (make a canopy).
Tomatoes
To accelerate the ripening of the fruits of this nightshade crop, it is recommended to use no more than 2 methods at the same time. Otherwise, you can destroy the plant.
Tomato fruits will begin to sing faster if:
- spray the bushes with an aqueous solution of iodine (30 drops of iodine per 10 liters of water);
- water the plants once a week with a liquid prepared from 1 bucket of water, 20 drops of iodine and 1 liter of fermented milk whey;
- reduce the amount of applied mineral fertilizers;
- reduce the frequency of watering;
- damage the root system of the bush (to do this, pull the plants towards you);
- remove all buds;
- pinch the tops of the plant;
- crank (twist) the stalk;
- put plastic bags on green fruits;
- pull the central stems with copper wire, stepping back from the ground surface 3-4 cm;
- spray tomatoes with superphosphate (1 liter of hot water and 2.5 tablespoons of fertilizer);
- open the greenhouse once a day (in the evening) to get rid of condensation.
Tomatoes turn red faster if you tie a banana peel covered with plastic wrap to the branch on which the fruit grows. Additionally, you can make several punctures in the trunk, near the stalk.
If tomatoes grow in open ground, and it is cold outside, then at night the bushes can be covered with garbage bags or plastic wrap.
In order for the fruits to ripen, they must not touch the ground. Branches that are bent from weight and lie on the ground should be supported. Shoots with fruits should be turned on the sunny side.
When the days get shorter and the nights are colder, tomatoes can ripen on bushes, which are uprooted and hung in a dark shed.
