- If the fertilizer is applied on soils with high acidity, crushed chalk, dolomite or slaked lime should be added to the beds at the same time. This will reduce the acidity of the bread.
- It is impossible to feed cucumbers and tomatoes with rotted cattle manure or poultry droppings simultaneously with the introduction of crackers.
- During the preparation of the composition, the use of moldy bread is allowed. This fungus is considered completely safe for garden crops.
- The bread based product starts the fermentation process, which releases large amounts of potassium and nitrogen into the soil. At the same time, calcium is taken from the soil. To compensate for the deficiency of this element, at the same time as such feeding, a small amount of wood ash or crushed chalk must be introduced into the soil.
- For the preparation of the infusion, it is advisable to take rye bread. In its absence, any products based on wheat flour will do.
- As soon as the liquid for tomatoes and cucumbers is ready, it is filtered. Bread is not brought into the garden and is not thrown away. The crust and crumb are used for compost production.
- Top dressing is applied only in the evening after sunset. In this case, the soil should be well warmed up. In the heat, the nutrient liquid is not used so as not to damage the root system of the plantations.
Recipes for bread dressings
The classic recipe for infusion for cucumbers and tomatoes involves the use of only flour products. First, the crumb, crackers and crusts are collected in a 10-liter bucket. The container is filled approximately 2/3 full. Pour everything with warm, settled or rain water and place under oppression. Infuse liquid for 2 weeks. Then the top dressing is filtered and diluted in a 1: 2 ratio.
The addition of nettle greens adds value to the bread-based formulation. To prepare top dressing, 1/3 of grain waste, 1/3 of tops are poured into the barrel and everything is poured with water. They are put under a press and left in the shed for 7-8 days. Strain and dilute with water in equal proportions before use.
A mixture with wood ash helps to solve several problems at once, since ash enriches the soil with calcium and reduces acidity parameters. For 50 liters of water, take 500 g of crackers and 2 liters of ash. Insist 6-7 days. Before introduction, dilute in a 1: 5 ratio.
