  • First of all, you need potatoes - 8-10 large tubers are enough for 4 servings. This amount can be increased if necessary.
  • One of the main ingredients of the dish is cheese. It is recommended to choose the product with a fat content of at least 50%, so that it can not only completely melt in the oven, but also form a crispy brown crust. Cheese will need about 200 g.
  • To make the baked potatoes more juicy and aromatic, you must use onions when cooking them - you need to take 2-3 heads.

  • An important ingredient is mayonnaise. It should be thick and greasy, it is better not to use low-fat sauce. For baking, you need 4-5 tbsp. l. product.
  • Garlic will add taste and aroma to potatoes. You need to take 5-6 cloves. Spicy lovers can increase the dosage of the ingredient to taste.

Various spices must be added to baked potatoes. You can take them at your discretion. Recommended spices: freshly ground black pepper, paprika, turmeric (they will need 0.5 tsp. l.)

Some cooks advise adding grain mustard to the pickling sauce - it will make the taste of the finished dish richer. Enough 1-2 tbsp. l. seasonings.

Cooking technology

First of all, you should prepare the potatoes. It must be thoroughly washed, peeled and cut into slices no thicker than 1 cm. Thicker pieces will take a long time to cook and may remain half-baked. If the tubers are young, they need not be peeled. It is recommended to put the slices in a colander or sieve and rinse under running cool water. Thus, you can get rid of excess starch, this will make baked potatoes more useful and less nutritious.

At the next stage, you need to peel and cut the onion into rings or half rings no more than 0.5 cm thick. If the vegetable is bitter or tastes too pungent, you can pour boiling water over it.

Prepare the marinade in a separate bowl. To do this, you need to put your favorite spices, grain mustard (optional) in mayonnaise and mix thoroughly. You also need to add garlic squeezed through a press and a small amount of salt to the sauce. Pour the prepared marinade into a bowl with potatoes and mix well so that each slice is saturated with the liquid composition.

Preheat the oven to + 200 ° С. Grease the baking sheet with any fat (sunflower or butter, lard, margarine). Put half of the potatoes on the surface and smooth. Spread the whole onion evenly on top. Put the rest of the potato slices on it. Grind the fat cheese on a coarse grater and sprinkle the top layer of the dish with plenty of shavings.

The baking sheet should be covered with food foil and sent to the oven for baking. The approximate cooking time is 1 hour. When the dish is almost ready, you need to remove the foil from it and hold it in the oven until golden brown.
