Features of the use of ammonia

The main weapon against pests is a strong, intolerable smell. Salmon has a negative effect even on people, and garden beetles are more susceptible to its influence, since they orient themselves mainly due to their ability to catch odors. The greatest danger to such insects is ammonia, the content of which in alcohol is 9%. It is allowed to use different methods of processing potatoes and other plants that are affected by the Colorado potato beetle, among them:

Rules for the use of ammonia, preparation of products based on it

You can combine different tasks: to feed plants and destroy pests. If the number of components is increased, the likelihood of deterioration in the condition of the bushes increases. In addition, the increased content of ammonia in the composition of root crops can harm people when using such a product. The maximum allowable dose of ammonia for plant fertilization is 1 tsp. l. for 1 liter of liquid. Such a solution is introduced into the soil if signs of ammonia starvation are visible in the plant.

Watering should also be done in accordance with the rules. So, use a special watering can with large holes. When watering, you need to place it closer to the green mass of the bush. The main task is to avoid the appearance of small splashes, since in this case a significant part of the active substance in the composition of ammonia will get into the air.

The treatment of plants with a solution for feeding and in order to combat the Colorado potato beetle should be carried out when the activity of the sun decreases - best at sunset. Moreover, it is important to use such a product after watering with water without additives. If the next day does not promise to be sunny, watering is carried out early in the morning. It is permissible to mix ammonia with other substances. For example, a recipe based on Coca-Cola is in demand. The principle of operation of the resulting solution is based on the combination of ammonia and phosphoric acid. The latter is used in most preparations used for the Colorado potato beetle.

We must take a drink without additives. It contains a lot of sugar, which, together with a strong pleasant aroma, will attract other insects. Recipe:

  • the drink is mixed with water in a 1: 1 ratio;
  • add ammonia (a few drops).

After the first watering, you can see changes for the better. It is not recommended to increase the volume of the substance, since this will not help speed up the process of removing pests, but will only have a negative effect on the plant. If there are still few insects, use a less concentrated solution. The basis is taken 2 liters of sweet drink and 7 liters of water. Ammonia (2-3 drops) is added to this liquid. However, a remedy based on "Coca-Cola" is not used if the potatoes have already been irrigated with chemicals.
