The benefits of natural fertilizers for the soil

After harvesting, the soil becomes scarce and loses all useful mineral and organic elements, since the harvest pulled them out of it. To replenish these substances in the soil, it is necessary to periodically return them back. As a rule, soil enrichment measures are carried out before the onset of winter or before planting vegetables and other crops.

REFERENCE! You have probably noticed that grain crops are planted on large agricultural fields, and then they are plowed without waiting for the ears to be grazed. This is done solely to replenish useful elements in the soil.

Mustard - organic fertilizer

Experienced farmers have long noticed these beneficial properties of mustard:

  • Mustard stems and leaves are biomass that the soil can easily absorb. They decompose in it and turn into humus and a nutrient organic medium.
  • Planting mustard heals the whole garden as a whole. It contains essential oils that are secreted and negatively affect wireworm pests and other microorganisms that cause disease in beneficial plants.
  • These essential oils do not harm the earthworms, which are responsible for loosening the soil. On the contrary, they stimulate their reproduction.

How to use mustard as fertilizer

This plant has a high percentage of germination, so a lot of green mass is formed, which can be converted into fertilizer. There is also a nice bonus - mustard blocks the multiplication of weeds on the site. After collecting mustard, you will receive 400 kg of fertilizer per 1 hundred square meters. The biomass is completely natural and contains phosphorus, nitrogen and potassium - the most essential components for soil nutrition.

When to sow

Avid summer residents are advised to plant mustard immediately after harvesting potatoes in order to minimize the loss of moisture from the soil. Sowing it is very simple according to the principle of "sower's movement" - randomly scatter seeds into the prepared holes (you do not need to germinate them), and then level the ground with a rake. The consumption is approximately the following - 140 g of seeds per 1 hundred square meters of land.

How to prepare mustard

Do not wait until the plant begins to turn yellow, you need to mow the grass as soon as it has gained full strength. This happens one and a half months after sowing. You can process the plant with a cultivator or chop it with a flat cutter. After you have processed the mustard, place the stems and leaves shallowly into the ground so that the plants can easily draw out all the nutrients in the spring.

IMPORTANT! Never dispose of organic fertilizers in regular waste bins. Make a compost pit and bury everything there.

To help ferment (break down) the mustard, use an EO formulation. And place the mass in moist and loose soil. Then you get a complete fertilizer.
