What is agroperlite?
Agroperlite is a perlite rock heated to a temperature of 870 degrees. It is this substance that is used when growing plants.
Agroperlite improves the quality of the soil, normalizes the air-water balance, and acts as an excellent drainage for indoor flowers. When using the breed, the roots are evenly distributed throughout the pot, enriched with oxygen, the plants grow faster and bloom more actively. Also, perlite perfectly absorbs moisture, and then slowly gives it to the soil, which contributes to uniform moisture of the plant roots.
Perlite is reflective, thus providing UV light to the back of the flower leaves. Because of this, the soil does not heat up much, so the temperature regime of the plant remains stable.
Consider the pros and cons
The main dignity perlite:
- Natural, environmentally friendly material.
- Very lightweight, can be used instead of soil for plants with weak roots.
- Perfectly absorbs moisture and gradually gives it to the plant.
- The substance does not cake, therefore the surface of the soil will never be covered with a crust and will allow air and moisture to pass through.
- The soil in the pot is kept at a stable temperature due to the thermal insulation properties of the rock.
disadvantages substances:
- Perlite is white in color, so it can be easily confused with pests of a similar color, which confuses gardeners.
- Perlite is not cheap, so if you need to buy a large amount of substance, you will have to pay a decent amount of money.
- You cannot grow plants in pure perlite, since the substance has a neutral pH, which can cause the soil to become oversaturated with alkali, and this negatively affects the development of the plant.
- Always protect your eyes and mouth when working with perlite! Ingestion of a substance may cause signs of poisoning.
What can perlite be used for?
- Perlite is an excellent material for planting seeds and rooting plants.
- The breed is used for humidifying the air in the pot and as drainage, but is mainly suitable for small containers.
- Perlite can be used to mulch any plant.
- The substance has proven itself well in flower pots for air exchange. Perlite allows you to keep free spaces that are filled with air and water, which prevents plants from rotting in such material, unlike water or soil.
- To significantly reduce the possibility of damage to seedlings by various diseases, perlite is often mixed with sand, peat or special soil.
- Perlite is an excellent substrate for plants with a root system located on the surface, such as orchids and bromeliads.
Thus, agroperlite is a wonderful substance for plants. It is widely used for different, even the most capricious colors. The special value of the breed is that it absorbs moisture, and then slowly gives it to the roots of plants, protecting them from drying out.
