The benefits of aspirin for plants
Acetylsalicylic acid, better known as aspirin, can be used not only in medical practice, but also for the purpose of helping indoor plants.
This folk remedy, recognized by many flower growers, is used in order to obtain the following positive results:
- increased immunity of flower crops;
- revitalization of drooping shoots;
- stimulation of growth processes;
- activation of the development of the root system;
- intensification of bud formation;
- prevention of the appearance of harmful insects and the development of diseases.
Usually, aspirin acts as a top dressing, healing agent and immunostimulant. Its beneficial effect is noted in the following disease states of plants:
- if leaves turn yellow and fall in large quantities;
- buds do not form for a long time;
- the plant loses its external decor;
- shoots become thinner and bent;
- leaf plates become pale and lethargic;
- plants do not recover well after illness, insect damage, transplantation.
Solution preparation
The available aspirin in tablet form is used for plants. The preparation of the solution involves the following sequence of actions:
- A standard aspirin tablet must be thoroughly ground to a powder.
- Transfer the preparation into a faience cup.
- Pour in a tablespoon of settled or filtered water (you can use well, spring or rain moisture).
- Stir until smooth, and then pour into a glass container with 500 ml of water.
- Shake thoroughly.
For processing, the solution is poured into a spray bottle. A suitable container with a spray nozzle can be used.
How to water flowers
In diseased plants, the aerial part usually loses its color saturation, becomes lethargic and weakened, the leaves droop.
In such a situation, foliar feeding is practiced. The prepared working solution of aspirin is irrigated on all sides of the stems and leaf plates of the plant. It is advisable to carry out this procedure in the evening.
Flower cultures, having absorbed the immunostimulating solution through the leaves, quickly restore the former elasticity of the green mass.
A solution of the same concentration can be administered under the root after watering. This procedure allows you to activate the growth processes of the root system, has a beneficial effect on the formation of new strong shoots, disinfects the soil, preventing the development of diseases.
Frequent procedures are not required, since an excess of aspirin can cause negative consequences, which must be taken into account when choosing a similar technique for reviving indoor flowers. Compliance with the interval between treatments of two months is considered optimal.
Aspirin as a top dressing, as well as a strengthening and disinfecting agent, does not have to be used systematically. You can use it to treat weakened plants or water the soil as needed.
