The only thing that saved my plantings from phytophthora was the tinder fungus (chaga). All other means did not work, and the use of a parasitic fungus made it possible to overcome the infection quickly and free of charge.

Mushroom harvesting

Tinder can be stocked in almost every forest. It is found on the trunks of fallen or drying trees. The mushroom is a large growth of an ash-brown hue. You can collect it in the fall. Even in November and at the beginning of winter, you can find a tinder fungus, quite suitable for use.

Polypore is effective not only in the fight against late blight. It also prevents cladosporium and other mycoses from developing and spreading. The action of the composition with the use of tinder fungus is not based on the destruction of infection, but on raising the immunity of the plant itself. The plantings have a chance to independently overcome any bacterial, fungal or viral disease due to the unique composition of the fungus. Chaga is rich in various acids that are classified as biological stimulants, including. acetic and oxalic. In addition, the composition of the mushroom contains a large amount of tannic compounds and trace elements that complement the effect of the main components.

For humans, tinder fungus is completely safe, therefore, processing solanaceous compositions based on it does not cause harm. The fruits from the plants can be consumed after washing. No additional manipulation is required.

When choosing a mushroom, preference should be given to young specimens. For old ones, it is better to use only a hat. In the middle, the tinder fungus should remain white. It is advisable to collect chaga from live trees. Mushrooms that have grown on rotten or dry stems can also be used, but the effect of treating plants with them will be weaker.

Knock down the growths from the bark with an ax or a thick stick. The pulp is cut into large enough pieces and dried thoroughly. In the future, the reserves can be used for spraying diseased plants and as a prophylactic agent.

Application

If the first signs of late blight spread are noticed on the beds with tomatoes or other crops, you need to immediately start preparing the composition. For this, dried mushrooms are taken out and crushed in a meat grinder, a combine or using a blender. In the absence of kitchen equipment, a simple knife with sharp blades will do. With some effort, you will have to finely chop the dry pulp.

Then 90-100 g of tinder fungus are taken for 1 liter of boiling water. The mushroom is poured with liquid and sent to infuse. 10-12 hours will be enough. It is advisable to wrap the container with liquid with a kitchen towel or thick cloth. The finished infusion is filtered and the plants are sprayed with a spray bottle.

The procedure should be carried out late in the evening after sunset. Otherwise, there is a high probability of burns on the foliage. It is advisable to choose dry and calm weather. If it rains at night, the product will wash off the leaves into the soil and will not give the desired effect. The manipulation is repeated 1-2 times a week until the signs of the disease disappear completely.

As a prophylactic agent, the tincture is used before the plantings begin to bloom. The processing is repeated every 2 weeks and until the beginning of fruit pouring.

When tomatoes have new lower leaves, they must be carefully treated with the composition, since the lower shoots of plants are most often affected.

The remedy effectively copes not only with diseases of tomatoes, but also cucumbers, potatoes, peppers and eggplants. It can be used both in open ground and in greenhouses or hotbeds.

After harvesting, dry chaga can be scattered over the beds and mixed with the soil. Such manipulation will help to disinfect the earth, because it is known that phytophthora spores winter in the ground.
