Reasons for the rebirth of a rose

Absolutely any bush in the rose garden can begin its rebirth into a rose hip. There are so many reasons for this phenomenon that for convenience they were divided into two groups.

The first group is the mistakes made during the vaccination. The most common are:

  • wrong choice of place;
  • incompatibility between scion and rootstock;
  • excessive deepening of the vaccine;
  • rosehip buds left under the scion.

The second group is the mistakes of agricultural technology made in the process of caring for roses. The most common are:

All these reasons are united by one thing - the rose is like a flower, like a cultivated plant dies. The vital activity of the stock does not stop, but it is from it that the dog rose sprouts.

The early stages of rose rebirth

The transformation of a flower into a rosehip is a slow process and almost invisible at once. But it is easier to solve the problem at the very beginning, so it is so important to pay attention to the following signs indicating that the rose hips have started up their shoots:

  1. Shoot color. Young shoots of a rose have a characteristic red tint, which is clearly visible. Over time, they turn green. Rosehip shoots are green at once.
  1. The size of the spikes. The noble flower has long, sharp thorns that are rarely located on the stem. Wild shrubs are distinguished by smaller and densely spaced thorns.
  2. Foliage shape. The rose leaf has a rounded shape at the end and a waxy coating on the entire surface. Rosehip has oblong leaves with a matte texture.

Correct actions when the queen of flowers is reborn

As soon as it becomes finally clear that the rebirth of the flower has begun, it is necessary to make the only correct decision - to remove all unwanted growth. Doing this spontaneously is not recommended. It is better to proceed according to the following plan:

  1. Careful release from the soil of the place where the young rose hips grow.
  2. Breaking out shoots. Thick shoots are cut with a sharp garden pruner, but you need to go a little deeper into the root.
  3. Places of breaks and cuts are processed with crushed charcoal or activated carbon. You can use special products that are sold in flower shops and are used to treat the cuts after pruning.
  4. Cover the trunk with soil. The soil must be carefully compacted.
  5. 4 days after the removal of unwanted growth, the bush is fed with superphosphate. For this, 50 g of the product is diluted in a bucket of water.

All these steps must be repeated until the rose hips stop growing.

It is also necessary to inspect the area within a radius of 3 m from the rose. Rosehip shoots can start sprouting even at this distance.

To protect flowers from degeneration, it is enough to strictly follow the rules of vaccination, agricultural technology. Regular removal of foreign growth will keep the flower queen on her pedestal.
