Good afternoon, my reader. Winter garlic is harvested at the end of July, and the gardener is faced with the question: how to fill the empty beds? There is still a lot of time until autumn, so it is worth thinking not only about the next season, but also about the rest of summer and early autumn. In order to properly use the plot and get a good harvest, it is necessary to take into account the rules of crop rotation. Therefore, we will consider the main planting options both in the middle and at the end of summer, as well as for the next season.

Land cultivation
First of all, you need to consider: even though garlic produces natural phytoncides, nematodes, garlic mites, fusarium and powdery mildew do not care about them. Therefore, before sowing new crops, you must:
- weed and dig up the garden;
- etch it with a solution of bacterial preparations (1% copper sulfate, "Fitosporin-M", etc.);
- add urea - 15-20 g per 1 "square". After application, the bed is well watered so that the urea dissolves in the ground.
If you decide to leave the garden until the fall, in October add half a bucket of compost or humus for each "square".
July landings
Greens can be planted immediately after the garlic. Good fit:
- spinach;
- rucola;
- celery;
- salad.
They have a short growing season, and you can collect greens, and then at the end of September, slowly prepare the garden for winter. Before sowing, fertilize the soil with a solution of any complex fertilizer (azophoska, superphosphate, etc.). It will be enough 1 tbsp. l. for 1 bucket of water, solution consumption is approximately 2 buckets per 3 sq. m.
In the middle of summer, greenery suffers from drought, so don't forget to water your crops.
You can also have time to sow early-ripening radishes or cucumbers, Chinese cabbage. But onions - in no case: a close relative of garlic, common pests, the same "wear" of the soil layer.
August landings
After garlic, radish is planted in August. In this case, you can plant it randomly, so that there is room for greenery. Until mid-August, you can have time to plant a green or black radish, as well as a daikon.
In addition, you can improve the soil with "green fertilizers" - siderates. Sowing them is permissible until September. Lupines, phacelia, mustard, oats, etc. will do. (except for rapeseed: it is better not to deal with it, since it is only a slightly cultivated rape, you are tormented to harass on the site). Siderat is allowed to grow and left in the garden on the vine. Under the snow, their tops will rot, and the roots will enrich the soil and loosen it.
Autumn planting
In late August - early September, strawberries are planted after garlic. He is the best predecessor for her, since he kills her pests, and pests and diseases of garlic are not terrible for strawberries. Also, garlic will be a good neighbor for the next year - but only through the aisle so that the strawberries do not creep and smother him.
Planting next year
The next season after garlic, you can sow:
- any legumes (from peas to lentils);
- any nightshade (potatoes, tomatoes, peppers, etc.);
- cucumbers;
- pumpkin and zucchini;
- eggplant;
- carrot.
Crucifers (all types of cabbage) and amaranths (beets and spinach) will feel worse. But if the soil is properly fertilized in the fall, the harvest will be excellent.
But you cannot plant onions after garlic. And garlic is not planted over garlic either - it is dangerous for the soil and crops. In an emergency, if there is no more room, you can put it in the second year again, but in the third year it is absolutely impossible, you must skip 4-6 years.
