How to find a grinder

Pests can feed on books, furniture, building materials, herbariums. The grinder that has penetrated into the thickness of the object will not leave there until it completely destroys it. Their most favorite habitat is dry wood.

However, it is not the beetle itself that spoils the material, but its larvae, making long zigzag passages in the tree and literally crushing the tree into dust. The larva of the pest under favorable conditions can live from 5 to 20 years. If the walls of a wooden building are not treated with a special agent, then soon enough the insect can choose a home and settle in it.   • insecticidal preparations;

  • protective mixtures and impregnations for wooden surfaces;
  • fumigators and smoke bombs;
  • folk remedies;
  • temperature exposure;
  • professional processing.
Protective impregnations are used only for prophylaxis, they are not suitable for insect control. If the pest has already occupied a large space, it is recommended to use insecticides that destroy both the larvae and the beetles themselves. During processing, you should protect yourself by wearing goggles, protective suit, gloves and a respirator. It is allowed to return to the home 4 hours after the procedure.

Microwave treatment gives a good result, moreover, it is completely harmless to humans. This method is based on the microwave effect, when insects are removed from the home using a device that generates a beam. Will help get rid of the pest and fumigator. For example, the smell of phosphine, which the carpenter beetle does not tolerate. If the volume of the infected surface is small, then areas with larvae should simply be removed.
