Foundation construction
Before starting construction work, you need to purchase the required amount of materials and determine the place where the barn will stand.
The first step is to establish the foundation. Most often, in personal summer cottages, columnar bases are used to build light wooden buildings.
The pillars should be placed in the corners of the building and in those places where the inner walls (partitions) are adjacent to the outer ones. It is recommended to install the supports at a distance of 1.5-2 m from each other to give stability to the frame.
As poles, you can use metal or asbestos pipes, which after installation should be filled with cement. The easiest way is to install supports from reinforced concrete blocks with your own hands. For them, it is necessary to dig pits, on the bottom of which a layer of sand and gravel with a thickness of at least 30 cm should be poured. Then it is required to install the blocks so that they rise 15-20 cm above the soil surface. Pits should be covered with earth and gravel and tamped tightly. You can use cement mortar for this purpose.
Erection of walls and roof of a warm wooden barn
To insulate the building, it is recommended to lay a layer of waterproofing on the prepared foundation. For this purpose, it is better to use roofing material - it does not allow moisture to pass through and is resistant to low temperatures.
The bottom piping must be laid on the waterproofing. For her, you need a bar of 150x150 mm. In the corners, the parts must be fastened inside with metal corners, and the mounting plates must be fastened outside.
The next step is to assemble the frame with your own hands. From below, it is necessary to nail the beam of the lower strapping, to it and the corner posts of the facade and the rear wall, you need to attach boards for the sides of the end frame. From above, you should nail the top harness bar Then you need to install the intermediate posts.
When the wall frame is assembled, you need to start installing the roof. For rafters, it is recommended to use a 40x150 mm board. In order for the roof to have overhangs, the length of the board must be greater than the width of the shed. It is important to strengthen the rafters with metal corners so that the roof of the warm wooden shed does not collapse under the weight of the snow.
After installing the rafters, a roof lathing should be made so that roofing material can be laid - tiles, slate, roofing felt or ondulin. It is also recommended to lay a layer of waterproofing material in the attic to keep warmth in the shed.
The next step is to sheathe the frame with boards. For external cladding, siding or lining is suitable.
Then the floor should be laid in the wooden shed, while it also needs to be insulated with waterproofing materials.
Then you need to sheathe the building from the inside: walls, ceiling and floor. At the same time, the walls can be insulated using special materials that can be purchased at a construction supermarket.
When hanging the door, it is important to take care that it does not let heat through. Sealant or construction foam can be used to strengthen doorways.
