Old car rims
If the disc is no longer suitable for its intended use, just take a closer look at it. This is a ready-made grill! It remains to make a metal stand, where coals will burn, and that's it, the structure is ready.
You can do it a little trickier. For example, fix steel pipes along the edges of the old disc, and hang grates to them on chains - and now you already have an additional barbecue brazier. If you put two pipes and weld grooves to them for turning the spit, you get a grill. The main thing is to choose the right mounting height.
When using this design, remember the main thing: before the first use, the disc must be cleaned. Wash it from dirt, clean off the rust with a stiff metal brush. It is not necessary to disinfect additionally: during use, the structure is still sterilized by the heat of the coals. But it will not hurt to grind and cover with heat-resistant paint for beauty and durability.
Drum from the washing machine
The brazier is even better from the mesh drum from the washing machines. The fact is that the holes in the walls will give additional traction, the coals will burn hotter and more vigorously - and the time of their burning will be reduced.
The drum itself can be placed directly on the ground. But for durability, it is better to install it on bricks or make a stand from a metal corner by bolting it.
Bricks
A brazier made of several bricks is already a classic. Who, going into the forest, did not grab 6-8 pieces in the trunk of a car to fold a disposable brazier? However, there are some subtleties here:
- The simplest design is bricks laid out in two rows at the desired height. If you put them on the edge, then one row may be enough, if flat for greater stability - 2 or 3. It is necessary to orient the disposable grill so that the rows go along the direction of the wind - then you will not need to specially inflate the coals.
- If the kebabs are fried frequently, you can fold in the standing roasting pan. For this, the site is leveled, if possible, it is concreted (it is easier to remove ash and unburned coal residues), and the bricks are stacked on cement mortar.
- Only red bricks are suitable for the barbecue, ideally fireproof. Silicate ones are not suitable even for a disposable grill.
- For a stationary brazier, you can additionally strengthen the walls with a metal mesh so that it does not fall apart from the heat.
Gas bottle
Finally, a brazier from an old gas cylinder can be an original design. It is done like this:
- The cylinder valve opens, the rest of the gas is vented into the atmosphere. This is done only in the fresh air!
- With the help of a "grinder" a lid is cut in one side of the cylinder.
- The cover fits on welded hinges.
- Legs are welded on the underside of the cylinder (crosswise) so that the structure does not roll on its side when used).
A ready-made grill from a cylinder is convenient because it is all-weather: in the rain, you can cover the lid so that the coals continue to smolder, and drops do not fall on them.
Additionally, you can weld on the inside a shelf from a strip of steel corner to support skewers or a barbecue grate on it.
