During the occupation of Soviet territory, the German army followed one of the most important propaganda principles of Nazi ideologists: anyone can go hungry, but not a German. A wide range of products was forcibly confiscated from the population. However, there was also such food that the soldiers of the Wehrmacht, being on the territory of the USSR, were openly afraid not of what to put in their mouths, but even to take in their hands. What are these “delicacies”?
"What is good for a Russian, death for a German ..."
In the post-war years, the myth of the "Immaculate Wehrmacht" was actively cultivated in Germany and abroad. The meaning of this myth-making is extremely simple: to whitewash the soldiers and officers of the Wehrmacht who participated in the hostilities on the eastern front, blaming all the crimes on the collaborators and the SS troops. In reality, everything was much sadder and darker. Crimes committed by soldiers, sergeants and officers were often no less serious than those of SS soldiers. Suffice it to recall the directive on special jurisdiction in the area of the Barbarossa plan, which removed the lion's share criminal liability from German soldiers for crimes against the local population and prisoners of war Red Army men.
However, even if we forget about the military crimes of the German soldiers, there are still many sad pages in the war. That there is only one foraging of troops at the expense of the local population. The forcible confiscation of provisions in the occupied territory is by no means a German notion, but Goebel's ideologemes in the spirit of "let anyone starve, but not a German" to a significant extent exacerbated the already gloomy status. However, there were food products that German soldiers and officers were openly afraid to take and consume.

The first large group of "forbidden foods" were mushrooms. German soldiers were forbidden to seize local mushrooms in any form: dried, salted, dried, etc. The command was simply afraid that the local population, using the knowledge about local mushrooms, may try to start poisoning the German troops with such a "cunning" way.

The second category of products is prohibited - vobla. The Germans almost did not use this fish due to the fact that roach provokes a powerful thirst. Finally, the third food group is fridge and okroshka. "Civilized" Europeans openly disdained to use both, as they believed that such dishes were prepared in violation of all sanitary standards. Both the chill and okroshka looked for the German soldiers, saturated with propaganda about the "barbarian people", as the most unappetizing sight.
